DONT listen to that silly man " a viewer" He doesnt know a thing. You can watch this extrodinary film on DVD and reap the hearty rewards of laughter and happiness. Or you can watch a VHS and dial up the internet while you toast your snax on a fire. In other words....The dvd is far better then any old VHS. This DVD is the best. Just believe me. You will thank me later. And see Spamalot too.

4-0 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air.
With all the deadly serious movies about the grail out there these days it's good to once again watch a movie that treats the subject with a sense of humor.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Newt?
One of my favorite comedies, and Monty Python's best and most irreverent movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The Monty Python troop made three films and had a television series that challenged the status quo by dealing with religion, class welfare, politics and dead parrots. There humor seems as fresh and rebellious today as when it was aired. Sometimes their humor was forced -- some scenes in The Meaning of Lif(e) ; however, Monty Python and the Holy Grail has the perfect mix of antitoletarism, irreverence and silly sots.

5-0 out of 5 stars November 6th, 2004-----What a night!!
My first encounter with Yanni was on TV years ago when I stumbled upon his Live at the Acropolis sometime back in '98. Like most of us, I was channel surfing and stopped on PBS just when drummer Charlie Adams was doing his now-famous routine. Wow. I watched the rest of the segment and got on the phone to PBS and ordered a VHS tape (I did not have a DVD player) and just about wore out the tape from repeated viewings.

I was there at Manadaly Bay the night this concert was filmed and had been waiting anxiously for nearly two years to see this concert again. And this DVD does not dissapoint.

I've always been on the border with Yanni. I had hope this DVD would help. It did not. If you really like Yanni you will probably like this DVD. If not go elsewhere. ... Read more

Throughout his long, wandering, often distinguished career Francis Ford Coppola has made many films that are good and fine, many more that are flawed but undeniably interesting, and a handful of duds that are worth viewing if only because his personality is so flagrantly absent. 1-0 out of 5 stars I refuse the offer
What we have here is, basically, two, because who actually has seen or even likes the third, of the most overblown, overhyped and unjustifiably overrated American films of all time.
5-0 out of 5 stars Dark & Delightful
I enjoyed watching these movies so much, I wish I had bought the DVDs a long time ago. Its amazing to see how the Part-III was made 18 years after part-I was made and everything looks so continuous if you watch them together. There has been much speculation on how the events in The Godfather novel written by Mario Puzo, the book the film is based on, could be an exposé of true facts. Many believe that the character of Johnny Fontane , for instance, was based on Frank Sinatra's real life, and many of the other characters were modeled after real people. I won't go into that: frankly, I have no idea whether these voices are reliable, although the Frank Sinatra reference seems obviously quite believable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Wanted This!
We have enjoyed the Godfather saga ever since it first came out in the 1970s. A young Al Pacino made his mark in this movie and we think that it was one of the roles that enabled to go as far as he has. Also, as a part of our family is from New Jersey, the period scenes of Ellis Island and New York City lets us remember what it was like growing up in that time and lets our family's new generation learn about it too. We have had the collection on VHS for some time, but the opportunity to have it on DVD was too good to pass up. The price was excellent as well, considering that it's all the movies plus the fourth DVD with the behind the scenes stuff.

3-0 out of 5 stars Query about problems on disc one
Has anyone had any problems with the animator's commentary in the special section on disc one?I bought the Maggie Simpson head box set and found that the commentary skips through this section.I initially thought it was a bad disc so I got an exchange for a different set and its happened again in the replaced box set.I tried playing it on my laptop dvd player and it would not play though that section! So I am wondering if its a problem with the batch that was released.Would love to know if the said same problem occurs in the disc one of the regular box set.I sent a query to Fox but have not heard back from them as of 082106. Would hope to hear from others who have purchased this disc set. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, warm trip down memory lane!
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a charming and playful Halloween story that adults and kids will love. Bing Crosby's smooth tones are the perfect accompaniment for this old-fashionied cartoon - perfect for snuggling under the covers on a dark, rainy night! I absolutely loved it as a 7-year-old kid and I am thrilled to share it with my little boy.

5-0 out of 5 stars The eleventh animated Disney masterpiece is a winner
I recently reviewed "Fun and Fancy Free," released just two years before this film.Walt Disney tried the same thing in that film that he did in this film; he combined two shorts into one release.Unfortunately, the technique did not work well in "Fun and Fancy Free."The technique worked very well in this feature.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Action Trilogy Ever!!!
The Indiana Jones films are the alpha-omega of action films.Steven Spielberg and George Lucas have certainly made a stunning milestone in film history.Harrison Ford is a brilliant and thrilling Indy, and the 3 heroines in the movies are beautifully acted also.Sean Connery is a funny and likeable father, and Julian Glover (Walter Donovan), and Paul Freeman (Belloq) are the best villians ever! The best film of the 3 is The Last Crusade, which is better plotted, then followed by Raiders, and then Temple of Doom, which is easily the darkest of the 3.If your ready for some thrilling action and high-flying stunts, sit back and enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Man With The Hat
Based on the early-movie cliffhangers he used to watch in theaters, George Lucas created something special: a re-invention of the entire adventure genre. These films waited a long time to make their bow on DVD, much too long for myself, personally. I always loved these films, they had everything to keep your attention riveted all the time. Each of the three films is very different from the others. "Raiders of the Lost Ark", the first and best of the three, introduces us to Indiana Jones, perhaps Lucas's greatest creation. Premiering in 1981, this film was a smash, also receiving an oscar nomination for best picture. Also starring was Karen Allen, perhaps the most even-matched female co-star for Harrisan Ford. It seemed she could give as good she got, and never backed down in any scene. Second was "The Temple of Doom", easily the darkest of the three, and the most intensely exciting. This film is a non-stop thrill ride from start to finish, and doesn't really bother to delve too deeply into personal relationships or charactor. The third film, "The Last Crusade", is possibly the most balanced in terms of plot and charactor, and has the wonderful Sean Connery to steal every scene he's in. The interaction between Indy and Mr. Jones is wonderful. If anyone was to ever play Indiana Jones' father, it was Sean Connery. The forth disc in the set is nothing but bonus features, which are almost as entertaining as the films themselves. These films waited far too long to be released to DVD, and I lay the blame squarely on George Lucas. I've heard he really didn't think DVD would take off like it did, that it was just a phase. It's great he finally realized his mistake and released these fine movies for everyone to enjoy. As with his "Star Wars" trilogy, the Indiana Jones films are cinematic history and should be required for all DVD collections.

Building words is an exciting and empowering experience for youngchildren (and frogs) who have mastered individual letters and their sounds. When young Tad wants to nominate his Dad for a "Best Dad" contest he askshis brother Leap and sister Lily for some help filling out the application. The three young frogs go see Professor Quigley at their Father's TalkingWord Factory for a little instruction and get to watch the"Sticky-ick-o-rama" and the "Word Whammer" machines at work.Tad quicklydiscovers that vowels act as the glue that sticks letters together and thenlearns to combine individual letter sounds to make three-letter words, usecommon ending sounds to create rhyming words, and blend letter sounds tomake even longer rhyming words.Phonemic awareness, vocabulary building, and rhyming are entertaining and fun thanks to familiar Leap Padcharacters, colorful animation, and short songs. An interactive wordgame challenges young viewers to fill in the missing first letterin a variety of three-letter words. This program is a great next step forgraduates of Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great tool in helping your little one to read...
If you're thinking of buying this DVD for your 4 or 5 year old DON'T HESITATE!!! This video will be a blessing to your little one. I'm a homeschooling mom and this video has 'turned-on' the light to pre-reading for my [...] year old. I don't like to use the TV as a 'baby sitter' but when I do, this is what I run to. My son has started reading at 4 and I give all the credit to this video! He can point to a letter and make it's sound, then does the same for another two letters and then he puts the sounds together! He can read the words NO, YES, BED, CAT, DOG, MIX, and some others as well. It's just amazing...not only that, but it keeps him entertained too and it's totally clean!!! Buy this DVD and it will help your little one overcome the challenges in pre-reading.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
These video's are incredible. My [...] is writing out words already... at [...]!My [...] also loves this video. We started the older one at 2 watching "Letter Factory", and as he learned the alphabet he also learned the sounds each letter made.He loves showing off to friends how much he knows.I reccomend the whole video series to anyone with kids ages 1 to 7.

4-0 out of 5 stars "HINKEY" BUT ENTERTAINING
Thia series' first season has some hits and some misses, but overall this CSI/WITHOUT A TRACE companion is entertaining and has offered some interesting, if oftentimes, confusing plotlines. The series focuses on a special team of agents who investigate various crimes under the umbrella of the Navy/Marine Corps.Mark Harmon heads up the team as Jethro Gibbs; Sasha Alexander is Kaitlin Todd; Michael Weatherly is Tony Dinosio; Pauley Perrette is forencisc expert Abby; David McCallum is medical examiner Duckie; and Sean Murray is Magee.Crimes range from terrorists to murders to kidnapping and gun running. Most episodes move quickly, although there are some distractions such as the annoying music that almost always accompanies Abby's scenes; McCallum's constant trivia and storytelling have become redundant and annoying; and the constant sexual bantering between Weatherly and Alexander is overused. While all the performances are very good, especially Perrette and McCallum, Mark Harmon's character is so unlikeable at times, you wanna punch him.Hopefully, they'll infuse him with a little more positive personality in the seasons to come.I don't find it as good as CSI or WITHOUT A TRACE, but I look forward to more episodes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding.
When I first heard of NCIS, my immediate reaction was, "Oh no, not another investigative show!" Programs such as CSI, Cold Case, and Without a Trace have never impressed me; I find many of the characters bland, and though the cases themselves may be good, it's a show's cast that sells it for me.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Second Season of NCIS hits stores on November 14th.
The sophomore season for most television dramas is usually the most difficult. One has to build on the success of the first season, identify and create the themes and story arcs for upcoming seasons, and retain the unique qualities that made the show successful in the first place. Led by executive producer Donald Bellisario, NCIS crafted a much stronger second season full of tension, drama, great mysteries, and a shocking conclusion. This is good television. And you dont let good television sit on the shelf too long, so hot on the heels of the release of the First Season on DVD is the November 14 release of the complete Season Two of NCIS.

What's to say about a show that I have followed since it first air on television? I love The Simpsons plain and simple.

5-0 out of 5 stars Could well be the best DVD on the market
Given that the movie is wonderful, perhaps the last of the great Hollywood musicals and a charmer for all generations, this DVD is still remarkably wonderful. Disney has done a clean-up job on the film that makes it shine. The audio is rich and wonderful, including the all-important ORIGINAL stereo soundtrack (feh to multi-channel remixes!). The special features even manage to elucidate the process of filmmaking in manner intriguing to both the cineaste parent and Mary-mad children.
5-0 out of 5 stars thank you, Julie and Dick (and Walt, of course)!
I think I like this movie more now than when I was a kid! And the extra features on this 2-DVD set are absolutely wonderful. Great interviews with Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, one of the Sherman brothers (songwriter), and the girl who played Jane that really show how special the movie-making process was, which then translated to joy on the screen.
5-0 out of 5 stars Delightful story and lovely music
Mary Poppins must be one of the loveliest filming produced by Disney studios. This musical movie is extremely well produced and has outstanding actor work. The scenes are of high quality despite the whole story was filmed indoors. Even the little part of London was reproduced in Disney studio. The music from Sherman brothers is world famous and well known. When you hear the first tunes, you might say: Hey I've heard that somewhere! Having this DVD on your shelf would please both you and your younger fellows. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing documentary, but could have been even better
This documentary is absolutely bone-chilling, really providing a powerful and honest look into how war has been waged in the modern era, demonstrating how the American public has been lied to and given propaganda in modern wars, as opposed to just giving them unbiased and truthful information and coverage, and giving the viewer an idea of how war has become more and more about imperialism and neo-Colonialism over time.It was also fascinating to note that the original words in President Eisenhower's great Farewell Address were actually "the military-industrial-congressional complex," but that he changed it so that he wouldn't alienate Congress, whom he'd gotten along pretty well with during his two terms. It's also a surprise to hear such a stinging indictment of military buildup and such a strong warning to exercise military power justly coming from someone who was a 5-star general, a career officer, and a Republican to boot.Sadly, we haven't heeded his wise parting words to us, the same way we haven't paid heed to President Washington's Farewell Address, in which he similarly warned us against getting involved in foreign entanglements and in not abusing our military strength or the nation's great ability to do good instead of evil.I've always thought Eisenhower was a lousy president (though a great general), one of my all-time least-favorite presidents, but my opinion of him was raised a bit after hearing his Farewell Address and finding out his feelings about the dangerous road the military and warfare were taking after WWII, as well as how he was against the dropping of the A-bomb on Japan.
3-0 out of 5 stars Holy Wars Or Constant Killing For Selfish Reasons?
This documentary is based on the Frank Capra films with the same title, "Why We Fight," which was used as propoganda in WWII to entice young American men to join the armed forces. We were displayed as being a force of imperialism and only fighting communism. However, it shows that we have been at constant war in some part of the world almost constantly since the Forties.During WWII, where Dwight Eisenhower was a five-star general, he was all for democracy (though he is a Republican), decency and victory at all costs.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awake America and strengthen the things that remain!
Empire building carries a cost. What will it cost America in the end? It has been noted that there seems to be a pattern where the very recognizition that an empire exists is the beginning of its collapse. May we recognize it for what it is before we have too far to fall. Once again we are haunted by the better angels of our past - men who warned us about the cost of not being vigilant.Too long we have been asleep. At last there is a wakeup call, may we not ignore it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Another volume of insane hilarity
THe episodes contained in this second volume of Adult Swim's Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, are another injection of insane animated hilarity featuring the bird-winged superhero turned lawyer and his insane cast of supporting characters.Gary Cole once again supplies the voice of Harvey as he tackles cases involving steroids ("Grape Juiced"), Droopy the Dog and botched plastic surgery ("Droopy Botox"), his sidekick Peanut hitting puberty ("Peanut Puberty"), and even the debut of female would-be sidekick Birdgirl ("Birdgirl of Guantanamole") who is secretly the daughter of Harvey's insane, one eyed boss Phil (the always excellent Stephen Colbert). There's a handful of episodes here that are instant classics as well, including "Blackwatch Plaid" which spoofs the patriot act and Bush administration when Phil goes on a rampage following a heist of his office (sort of), "Gone Efficien...t" in which the law firm attempts to go more efficient by saving time in the craziest of ways, the gun law spoofing "Guitar Control", and "X Gets the Crest" in which X the Eliminator (voiced by Peter MacNicol) finally gets Birdman's crest which sends Harvey in a downward spiral, for a while anyway. There's a nice assortment of extras here as well including commentary tracks from Cole, Colbert, MacNicol, John Michael Higgins (Mentok the Mindtaker), and Paget Brewster (Birdgirl) which is worth the price of admission alone. All in all, if you're even a casual fan of the series, you've got to have this.

5-0 out of 5 stars DEFINITE ADD TO ANIME COMEDY
I just luv this show, hysterical spoof on law firm culture. The show has all the typical sterotypical characters from the office, the fat lazy hippo, the narcistic egocentric grinchy boss, the uptight anal retentive person (reducto), etc., theMy favorite episodes from this volume are Peanut Puberty & Gone Efficient.Who hasn't worked for a place that was so cheap, they did not even have the supplies to do your job...Don't forget that clapping bear, clapping at the most inappropriate moments. I totally reccommend this dvd.If you haven't already bought it or watched it, chk out ATHF, Squidbillies, Sealab 2021, Venture Bros. & Metalapocalypse.

5-0 out of 5 stars Clever and hilarious, Harvey Birdman continues
This long-awaited DVD set of shows from the Harvey Birdman series is hysterically witty and clever. If you loved the first 13 shows available on the volume 1 DVD you should enjoy this set every bit as much. Harvey, Sebben and all the other wacky, insane versions of old Hanna-Barbera characters are back making the usual mess of the legal system. Here's a list of episodes:
