Editorial Review

There's an extra coat of hot wax on Pixar's vibrant, NASCAR-influenced comedy about a world populated entirely by cars. Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) is the slick rookie taking the Piston Cup series by storm when the last race of the season (the film's high-octane opening) ends in a three-way tie. On the way to the tie-breaker race in California, Lightning loses his way off Route 66 in the Southwest desert and is taught to stop and smell the roses by the forgotten citizens of Radiator Springs. It's odd to have such a slim story from the whizzes of Pixar, and the film pales a bit from their other films (though can that be a fair comparison?). Nonetheless, Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Pixar can do better -- much better
Pixar has quite a high bar to maintain and they falter a little on this one.Based on my 12 year old neice's suggestion, she and I watched this film.Pixar's usually pretty good right? Both of us at one point looked at each other about half way through to figure out what time it was.The film has great messages and wonderful animation but the execution is really flat and boring.Pixar is noteable for being exceptional, something that's hard to do with animated films that will be appealing to both kids and adults. It's enjoyable for the most part but this clearly is the first of the Pixar films to fall noticeably short.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pixar Continues To Shine
Oh, how easy it would be to duplicate one's success with a tried and true formula, but not Pixar. And this it what makes them so special and unique. They like to take risks. Thank goodness for John Lasseter and the wonderful team of animators at Pixar because they did it again. "Cars" was thoroughly enjoyable and great entertainment. This was definitely challenging, computer-animated cars. Who would have thought that when it all started with toys that we'd make it through bugs, monsters, fish, and talking cars? Pixar is a true delight. This is a fun movie. I look forward to watching it on DVD since I only saw it once in the theater. Once again, you have great voice-over work and immaculate landscapes for the cars to roam through. All of Pixar's movies are genuinely heartfelt and "Cars" is no exception. If you have Pixar's others movies on DVD, then you don't want to skip this one. "Cars" is great for either adults or kids. Don't hesitate, get this great dose of computer-animated eye candy before the stores run out.

5-0 out of 5 stars so far, so good...
Disney movies really aren't my thing. For example, I recently bought a few movies from WalMart: Serenity, Slither, and Final Destination II... none of which are Disney movies.I used to think that Disney movies were mainly for kids. Granted, I do have the entire Lilo and Stitch series, but beyond that, my late Disney experiences have been from watching old WD movies like Beauty and the Beast and Finding Nemo with my 5-year old cousin (and don't take that as a rip on Finding Nemo; I actually really liked that movie). What really attracted me to Cars in the first place, however, was the fact that it had Larry the Cable Guy in it, as the lovable but somewhat dimwitted Tow Mater (known throughout the film simply as Mater), seeing as I am a HUGE fan of Larry's material.I finally got to see the movie as a result of a bootleg copy I got from a friend.I must say, it is one of THE best Disney movies I have ever seen.It was very family-friendly and overall quite hilarious.

5-0 out of 5 stars Guaranteed to shed a tear!!!
An extraordinary movie, The Lake House, brings to the screen the story of a man and a woman who somehow manage to communicate through letters (and fall in love with each other) even though they are two... years apart!
5-0 out of 5 stars Very Romantic and Heart Rendering
This movie is right up there with An Affair to Remember.Very romantic and heart tugging. The end was a pleasant surprise! Great movie to curl up on the couch with your favorite person to cuddle with.

4-0 out of 5 stars KEANU AND SANDRA'S TIME TRAVELING ADVENTURE
I had read enough and seen enough about this movie to know what to expect.I admit it could be confusing at times knowing what year I was in, but the movie did a good job of giving you hints to figure it out without having to spell it out across the bottom of the screen (think Sixth Sense). The most obvious was the length of Sandra Bullock's hair.It was longer when she was in the past, and shorter during her current situation.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent
This show was one of the best comedies in television history. Only a crappy network Fox had the capability to kill it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Taste the sad
I am a big fan and love seasons 1 and 2.I feel that season 3 is somewhat disappointing.I assume that part of the difference between season 3 and the other seasons is that there was pressure to cram a lot of story into only 13 episodes, plus there were some new writers and pressure to make the jokes more accessible to newer viewers.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Yet
Season 3 of The L-Word is by far the best yet.
4-0 out of 5 stars Reviews give away show
I've enjoyed watching the series, and have been waiting for the third season to come out so I could watch it.For those of you like me who hadn't seen any of the third season, be careful which reviews you read. The review titled "Descent" basically gives the whole story line of season three, character by character. It was a bummer for me since I'd managed to stay away from that information so far.
5-0 out of 5 stars It is so absorbing
This show touches my life because I identify with the characters. In some cases, I act like them. In other cases, I want to be like them. And in most cases, I want to be with them. This season made me cry. It made my girlfriend cry and then I took a poll of my viewing friends and found they cried, too. A little embarrassing and pathetic to admit crying to a tv series, but hey, it is well done because it reaches out of the screen and touches those interested viewers. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Building On Excellence
Some TV shows lose their effect and fall into a rut after the first season. House doesn't. Instead, it keeps all of the character developments from the first season and builds on them. The cliffhanger ending to the second season is a great way to keep audiences hyped up for the current season which, if the first few episodes are any indication, will just get better and better. Buy this DVD set. You won't regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pure joy.
Okay, that obviously doesn't refer to the demeanour of the central character, but this is just the best thing on TV. I don't really care how medically accurate it is, or if any hospital on the planet ever has so many serious cases time and again, or even if a doctor with such extensive knowledge has ever, will ever, or even could ever really exist. All I care about is the incredible dynamics created between the central players. As for the dialogue? Man, the dialogue is beyond equal on TV today. House has throwaway lines that other shows would kill for, but there are just so many, I'm sure most viewers simply don't realise how clever it is. It really is one of the funniest shows on TV, even though it's not a comedy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Discomfort and Realism Have Never Been So Funny
The Office almost didn't succeed. It wasn't because it wasn't funny (it is), wasn't well-acted (it is), or due to poor reviews (critics loved it); people were too afraid that it would pale in comparison to the British series of the same name upon which this show is based. Also, it is a very different style of comedy, which is a huge turn-off to people who are comfortable with the numerous (read: cookie cutter) sitcoms that flood the airwaves each year (Arrested Development fans know what I'm talking about).Anyway, with only a 6 episode first season, things looked pretty grim.Fortunately, the show was able to stay on the air long enough to win over a respectable fanbase, and now it looks like it will be here for a while. But about that first season...
5-0 out of 5 stars The Beginning of Someting Incredible!!!!!
If you want someting new, something fresh, something different; The Office, season 1, is for you!Not incorporating your regular "set up and punch line" comedy, this show will definatly have you laughing out loud.
5-0 out of 5 stars The season that started it all
Office hype is all over the media these days. The show won an emmy and Steve Carrell is "hot" right now.So, if you've become a fan of the show during the second or third season, you need to buy this DVD so you can see where it all began.

4-0 out of 5 stars Funny, but missing something......
I thought the first Ice Age was great. This one is good, not great. They really used scrat better this time than before, but the rest of the characters were.....not undeveloped, but it just didn't have as many hilarious situations.Sid is as hilarious as ever, but manny and diego doen't do as much.
5-0 out of 5 stars It's Better The Second Time Around
This was HILLARIOUS!!! This was far better than the first movie. John Leguizamo was brilliant as usual, the perfect voice for Sid. And it was great having the voice of Queen Latifah as Ray Ramano's love interest. This movie was a comedy-lovers delight. And of course the squirrel, Scrat, was genius from day one. Every scene he's in is like watching a great silent movie. That actually requires a lot of skill on behalf of the storytellers and animators to create scenes without dialogue that are equally as entertaining and engaging as those with dialogue. The latter is one reason why the first "Ice Age" film distinguished itself. So the team at Blue Sky Studios should be congratulated. This is a sharp movie. No sophomore slump. I have the first one on DVD and I can't wait to get this incredible sequel. Everything just seems more developed and elaborated upon this time around. Computer-animated films were still in their infancy when the first film got released. But the technological progress that has been made since then is obvious and it's been put to good use throughout the movie. I really enjoyed "Ice Age 2." So if you were a fan of the first one, then don't forget to get the sequel when it hits stores this November.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ice Age: The Meltdown (2.5 stars)
Ice Age: The Meltdown is exactly what it sounds like: the Ice Age is thawing out, a great flood is imminent and the mismatched trio of Manny, Sid and Diego find themselves on another journey together. There is no inner group conflict this time around but rather the conflicts are personal to each character: Manny copes with his fear that he may be the last mammoth, Diego reveals that he has a petrifying fear of water, and Sid feels unappreciated by his peers. When Manny runs into Ellie, the only other mammoth left, who just happens to think she's a possum, he brings her along for the ride with her two possum brothers, Crash and Eddie, as well. The ensuing voyage to get to the end of the valley to escape the flood is completely uninteresting and bland, as are all the jokes and problems they face on the way. The witty dialogue that was present in the first film is sorely lacking here with the only laughs coming from the zany physical antics of Scrat, the prehistoric squirrel, and his never ending quest to get his acorn (it says something about the quality of a movie when the funniest parts come from a comedy formula originating in the ice age itself). Ice Age 2 is more of a letdown than anything, a boring and cliched story of a group of oddballs overcoming their fears and differences to become better "people" in the end. Though a series of shorts featuring Scrat would have been far more consistent and entertaining, Ice Age: The Meltdown's box office intake would indicate that this latest installment probably isn't the last of the franchise and that as long as the next one still has Scrat included, it will be just as big of a success. ... Editorial Review

As the saying goes, Aaron Eckhart was born to play Nick Naylor, the 30-something "voice of Big Tobacco" in this brazen satire of corporate profits and what lobbyists will do to protect them. Right from the opening, Eckhart is in spin mode, turning the tables on a popular talk show when he states health officials want a young teen stricken by cancer to die more than big tobacco does, since the boy would be a martyr to them, but only a single lost customer to the industry. Audiences gasp, panelists guffaw, and the kid happily shakes Nick's hand. The Academy of Tobacco Studies has a colorful array of folks surrounding Nick, including his cantankerous boss (J.K. Simmons) and the Colonel (Robert Duvall), tobacco's undisputed leader. His closet friends are lobbyists for guns (David Koechner) and alcohol (Maria Bello) who discuss their odd businesses over regular lunches, but when a cutie-pie reporter (Katie Holmes) swings into Nick's life, things begin to unravel. Based on Christopher Buckley's even more outlandish novel, Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Punished Twice: Read the Book and Saw the Movie
Why do I punish myself like this. First of all I read the book by Christopher Buckley because I really like his writing. Occasionally while reading it there was a slight movement of my lips that could be interpreted as the very beginning of a smile. Chris, old buddy, you really let me down with this one I thought when I finished it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Blows Smoke Rings
So many critics heaped so much praise on this movie, I came to it with high expectations. But I was very disappointed.
5-0 out of 5 stars "Can Brad Pitt blow smoke rings?"
`Thank You for Smoking' is one of the funniest and freshest comedies I've seen in a long time. It's smart and witty and capitalizes on its assets brilliantly, leading Aaron Eckhart to what has to be is greatest performance to date (a Golden Globe nod should be a lock at this point). As Nick Naylor, Eckhart is smart, effective and confident as the voice behind big tobacco. He's so into his job that he even goes as far as to somewhat promote smoking to his son's elementary class.Nick regularly meets with his fellow lobbyists (David Koechner & Maria Bello) for lunch, donning the name MOD squad (merchants of death), where they discuss and or compete for the greatest death count.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Trilogy Ever!!!
X-Men, X-Men United and X-Men "The Last Stand" are simply spectacular! The cast, the characters, the special effects, the story, the action scenes, and everyhting else seems to work to make these movies the best movie trilogy ever!!!.I have seen lots of movies in my life, but nothing compares and comes close to X-Men.
5-0 out of 5 stars World War X
In X1 there was the attempt by Magneto (played superbly by Ian McKellan) to convert humans to mutants. In X2 it was a plot by a corrupt Fed to kill all the mutants using Xavier (Patrick Stewart). In X3 a "cure" is found that makes all mutants human.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great adaptation of classic heroes.
While it'd be impossible for any films to do justice to Marvel's legendary team of super-powered mutants, I really feel that these films are almost as good an adaptation as we could have hoped for.The casting was strong, the action was solid, most of the characters were portrayed memorably, and the stories largely stayed true to the spirit of the X-men. The first film felt a little rushed due to the sheer number of characters introduced, but all things considered it was a very enjoyable film for both the uninitiated and old-school X-fans. Hugh Jackman was spot-on as Wolverine, the most iconic X-man and arguably the hardest to cast and Famke Jansen was a fantastic Jean Grey for at least the first two films.Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellan (Magneto), and Rebecca Romjin-Stamos (Mystique) also delivered outstanding performances playing their respective comic icons. The story was a nice update of the comics and followed Rogue's induction into Professor X's school for mutants and Magneto's first big terrorist attack on mankind. All-in-all, a satisfying start to the series. The second film really kicked the series into gear and introduced more of our favorite X-men, including Nightcrawler (whose opening sequence was the highlight of the film), Pyro, and Iceman. The story involves Wolverine's past and the government's attempts to control the ever-growing mutant population. The result was one of the greatest comic book films ever made that firmly cemented the developing series as one to watch. For some ridiculous reason, at this point the powers that be decided that the third film would be the last. This was a bad choice that made no kind of sense, upset the films' fans, and severly hurt the quality of the third film.Ah, the third film; a mixed bag to say the least. The plot deals with two classic storylines involving a cure for mutants and the legendary Dark Phoenix. My personal list of complaints is a long one, but I'll just hit a few in this review."X-men: The Last Stand" tries to cram two movies' worth of material into one film that is too short to begin with. The introduction of the Phoenix was obviously forced and no care was taken in this storyline which is one of the all-time classics in comic history, and the result is several pointless character deaths and gaps in logic, like why an all-powerful entity is content to hang out at an aging terrorist's side and just look menacing for most of the story. The series' former darling, Rogue, is reduced to a brooding plot-nuisance, has no real influence on the story, plus she never gains the fantastic powers she obtained in the comics that made her such a powerhouse of a character and a personal favorite of mine.On the other hand, more classic characters are given parts such as fan-favorite Kitty Pride and Collossus (both of which had cameos in X2), Angel, Multiple Man, Beast (played nicely by Kelsey Grammer), and the almighty Juggernaut (whose battle with Kitty was as awesome as it was unexpected). But as many characters as there were that made it into the three films, there were so many great ones that were reduced to either tiny, unnamed cameos in the series, or forgotten altogether. No Gambit, Emma Frost, Sinister, Apocalypse, Scarlet Witch, or Havok to name just a few.Furthermore, the final film's resolution in extremely unsatisfying and leaves little doubt that this franchise as we know it is dead, though they do leave us a glimmer of hope. There are talks of Wolverine and Magneto spin-offs and possibly a New Mutants project; promising ideas, but hardly a substitute for the ensemble we know and love.Still, in the end, I really did enjoy X3 as a film as it did have several great stand-up-and-cheer moments; it just upset me as a fan of the comics and as a fan of the the movies because there wss so much more that could have and should have been done with this series. In the end, whether you're a fan of the comics, the cartoons, or just a fan of sci-fi or fun movies in general, you really shouldn't miss out on these three movies. The series is full of memorable characters, fantastic battles, sly humor, references for hard-core fans, and, of course, the classic X-men social commentaries about discrimination and the importance of both individuality and cohesiveness. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of special features from the first two films on this edition; but for about $10 a flick, I'll let it slide since it is still a hell of a bargain.Highly recommended set. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great show, but another set that I won't buy...
I WOULD have purchased all of the seasons on DVD, except for the fact that they just don't include any extras.I've SEEN all the episodes, so there is no reason to watch them again.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Series
What can I say, in my personal opinion the series keeps getting better and baetter. The sixth season intorduces Chris, Piper's second son come back from the future to prevent Wyatt from being corrupted. I really like the character who tried to turn Wyatt evil. I am niot going to give that away just in case someone hasn't seen it. Anyways back to the character of Chris. I like the conflict he brings to the plot. I personally didn't like how the character acted in the beginning. By the end of the season, he was okay.Wyatt uis still my favorite of Leo's and Piper's sons. I also liked Valhey of the Dolls. It is a personal preference because I love norse mythology. I also loved Witchstock. The young Leo looked HOT! Again my personal opinion. If you are a fan of the show, you will want to get them all for your collection.

Editorial Review

The third season of the WB's small town soap begins with the blaze that ended the second ("Like You like an Arsonist"). Dan (Paul Johannson) makes it out alive, but vows to seek vengeance on the perpetrator--even if that person happens to be estranged son Lucas (Chad Michael Murray). In the following episode ("From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea"), Dan's preferred offspring returns to Tree Hill. Will Nathan (James Lafferty) reconcile with wife Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti)? It's her deepest desire, but Nathan has his doubts. Further changes are afoot. Haley and Brooke (Sophia Bush), for instance, move in together...which wouldn't seem so strange if they were in college rather than high school. Brooke and Lucas also try a "non-exclusive" arrangement (her idea, not his). When sexy schemer Rachel (Danneel Harris) joins the cheerleading squad, Brooke starts to regret her decision. Meanwhile, the delightfully odious Dan runs for mayor. Just when he thinks he's got it locked, Lucas’s mom, Karen (Moira Kelly), throws her hat in the ring. But those developments are minor compared to the school shooting in episode 16 ("With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept").Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best TV Drama Series EVER !!!
I've been a fan of one tree hill since the first episode, i am very impressed with the show, it is best drama series ever, i still never watched any other TV show better than one tree hill. In addition the third season was the best so far, so i highly recomend it.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best show on tv
I own all 3 season. . I have favorite episodes from every season, but season 3 is my favorite season. The only thing I hate is the stupid new cases they put them in. Why in the world would they make it this way. Like I want my dvds to overlap eachother, they are just asking for people to scratch them, so they can make more money. They did the same thing with season 5 of smallville and season 1 of supernatural. They are the most retarded cases of all time. I Love OTH.

5-0 out of 5 stars Even My Husband likes the show
I absolutly think this show is one of the best teenie bopper shows out.My 33yr old husband enjoys this show.Every episode keeps you hanging in suspense. I never can wait till the next one. The season finale is the major cliff hanger at the end of the third season. When everything seems to start going the way you want another wrench gets thrown into the mix. Waiting all summer for the next season to start is horrible. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Movie is great, but don't bother with the Collector's Edition!
As a DVD collector, I was more than willing to fork over the extra ten dollars to pick up the X-Men: The Last Stand Collector's Edition. Unforntunately, I have never been more disappointed.
4-0 out of 5 stars Wrap Up
I enjoyed this movie for what it was.I also enjoyed the first two movies as well. They seemed to depend a lot more on characterization and the human/mutant discriminations. This one seems to go more for the slam bam action more than story. The mutant battle at the end of the movie is great. This movie kills off several major characters, makes some major changes to others, as well as introducing us to new major characters Beast, Angel and Juggernaut. To quickly sum it up, Jena Grey returns from the dead as Phoenix, a not so nice but very powerful mutant.Professor X and Magneto are at odds as to what to do with her.Meanwhile a mutant boy who can take away the mutant ability is used to create a cure for mutants. Some see this as a savior, others look at it like genocide.Thats when the real battles start.Enjoyable action film with great special effects.Though this wraps up the overall X-Men trilogy nicely, there was a slight tease at the end of more possibilities.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb, it doesn't get any better than this!
I loved this movie and cannot understand why anyone who is truly a sci-fi fan could not love this movie. It was action packed with great special effects and a very well thought out plot. This combination is almost impossible to find in movies today.Nothing, since the Terminator II can compare to this movie.Hats off to everyone involved in this fantastic production. For those of you who can not apppreciate a gem sci-fi such as this, stick to something you know. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars WEST WING, THE ONLY SHOW I WATCH
I own seasons 1 thru 6 on DVD. I bought the EMMY DVD on ebay with 5 episodes.
3-0 out of 5 stars Liberal Fantasy Loses Its Sense of Reality
There some excellent moments here with Sheen giving a very dignified performance as the President on his way out. However, too many episodes centre around the election and the end result is, frankly, laughable.A Democrat wins office AGAIN - this is in complete contrast to the general trend of American political history. But worse than that, the program makers have denied themselves the chance for some excellent drama. If Bartlett had had to hand over to a Republican there would have been real tension... Nonetheless, Alan Alda is outstanding as the Republican nominee and much more interesting, chrasmatic and (Yeah!) presidential than Jimmy Smits.

3-0 out of 5 stars The ups and downs of saying goodbye
This is a tough call for me, after buying all the previous seasons,John Goodman's chapters (series five)being my favorite. The episode I'll play the most in series #7 will be Alda's emmee award performance in the debate episode. Amazed that Channing could receive an emmee nom for a comedy series ("Out of Practice")after her horriffic portrayal of Abby Bartlett in this closing episode, but if this 7th season teaches us anything, it's about the transitory nature of politics. Some great episodes, some not so great episodes, I'll buy it, because you won't see something (a study of the Presidency) of this quality and detail in a long, long time. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Magical from beginning to end
To begin with, I am 26, an ex-dancer, and a mother of 3 princesses, ages 4, 3, and 1.I think this movie is just fantastic. The music and dancing is a beautiful experience and I am in awe of how great of a job they did with the small details of the dance. For example, you can see the pointe shoe bending in the correct areas of the dancers feet as they move. The scenery in and around the castle is gorgeous and eye-popping and I catch myself humming the songs while I'm even at work.I hope in the future there will be actual live touring shows of this movie. The makers of Barbie should seriously consider this as I feel it would become very popular.I give this movie 2 thumbs up!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good enough for even a big kid!
This is my favorite of all the Barbie movies to date, by far! And that is coming from a 16 year old (yes, I really am 16). I watched this movie because my little sister got it for her birthday, and I absolutely love it. For the first time, Barbie has a whole cast of lovable characters, not just one or two good characters and a villain. The only thing I didn't like was the monkey's bad sense of humor. Other than that, this movie is great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cute Movie!
This is a very charming movie- Loads of Dancing in it too! It would really spark an interest in Balley for little ones! This is alittle bit like the 12 girls who has an evil stepmother, and turned in to swans. But it's really cool too! I love the golden pavillon and the gold boat! it's SO pretty! The music and the graphics are excellent, and the story base line is very empressive also! But personally, I like the Fairytopia line better then the Barbie Fantasy ones. This one was awesome though! Hope this Helpes!

The only reaosn this show gets more than one star is because at the very least you can see that money is spent on it. the presentation is solid.
5-0 out of 5 stars The OC
I would have to say that i am a HUGE fan of the OC and have followd it from day one.I loved the third season more then any of the other seasons.I am just dissapointed that they killed off Marissa.Im also very sad at the fact that there will be only one more season left.I LOVE the show and own all the sesons.Hopefully something else will come out just like this but im sure it wont top the OC.

3-0 out of 5 stars not feelin it..
I'm a huge OC fan and followed the show. HOWEVER, is it only me or am I just not feeling the spark that the first season had? I mean, where is all the humor???? The producers and writers are put to blame here for taking the shows orginality and replacing it with stupid crap throughout the entire season. The music also sucks. It's just filled with stupid whiny junk with the exception of Imogen Heap. It was also quite dissapointing because once one bad character left, another one appeared! What is up with that??? We can only take so many crappy characters in a row!! I was used to the old, mellow, laid back, witty humor with some drama thrown in. What happened to that? Well, I was kind of sad that Marissa died because she was most of the shows plot but also happy because she and Ryan had already broken up anyways. Let's hope in season 4 they have more humor, less sadness. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Astounding
I am not sure how they are going to keep the momentum of this wonderful show going. The characters are stronger and the plot even better than season one.I found myself unable to stop thinking about the masterfully done plot of this series for days. Not since Babylon 5, has there been this kind of quality in TV.I am amazed.Wonderful! The best show on TV period!

4-0 out of 5 stars Starting with the cliffhangers of the first season
As if there weren't enough cliffhangers at the end of the first season, another one is thrown in the mix to complicate matters. We start with Adama being in critical condition, a team is stranded on Kobol, and Starbuck is back on Caprica with Helo and another Sharon while looking for an arrow. Then a jump ends with the rest of the fleet, including the doctor, being sent somewhere other than where Galactica ends up.It takes several episodes to wind all of these things up which technically make it the slowest part of the season in terms of time passing in the series.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great entertainment for fans of the show
I have waited patiently until the release of the second half of Season 2 to buy this "2.0" set, comprising of the first 10 episodes of the show's second season, hoping in vain for a better whole season package or a cheaper bundle deal. Alas, we didn't get either of those, and I would wait no longer.

3-0 out of 5 stars In the end a very silly movie
The movie is visually stunning with some good one-liners. However, there are some real groaners. The movie makes one think about the role of government and the abuse of power. These are good ideas to ponder. The theme of ideas gives to one of the worse groaners. It went something like "Behind this mask is an idea and ideas are bulletproof." The other bad line if you stop and think about it is "It is the government that should be afraid of the people." What does that really mean? Respect the people, maybe. A government that fears the people gives rise to dictatorships and genocide.
5-0 out of 5 stars Remember, Remember....
Oh man. This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I saw this in the theaters and felt like giving it a standing ovation afterwards. I bought this movie the day it came out on DVD and have watched it 5 times since then. This movie has superb acting, great action sequences, and an ending that will blow you away. Everyone I know who I've reccomended this movie to has loved it. Most people who didn't like it probobly couldn't understand it. I don't get why Republican people hate this movie so much. They only mention America like once in this movie, and I don't think it's just leftist propaganda, I think it's a wonderful film that makes you think. Great performance by Hugo Weaving and Nataile Portman. Two thumbs way up!

5-0 out of 5 stars Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici
This was most definitely one of my favorite films of the year.Once I discovered the Wachowski brothers had written a script for, and were producing another film I had my hopes set very high.Being only person I know who thought the matrix sequel's were perfect - in spite of the opinion of critics, media, and other reviewers - I had my hopes set quite high.I was not disappointed. On the contrary, this movie exceeded my expectations.Like the graphic novel (which is also fantastic) this filmgrapples with philosophical and political issues such as "what is the government's responsibility to it's citizens?", and "can a terrorist be a hero?".Expect a much deeper film than other recent comic book / graphic novel adaptations recently released; while many of those are top-notch, this film shows you can have first class action without omitting a profound underlying message.

4-0 out of 5 stars Over the Hedge is a really cute movie.
I wasn`t aware that `Over the Hedge' is based on a comic strip. I've never seen it, but I can only imagine that it would be just as good as the film, if not better. And while it's not an astonishment, I can say that Hedge is genuinely enjoyable, and great fun for everyone.

This movie is at times side splitting funny.RJ, a lonely racoon with a taste for processed human food gets himself in a pinch with a bear that want's nothing but RJ's pelt if he doesn't get his food back.In trying to get the food that he ruined back, RJ learns a valuable lesson that their are bigger things ins life other than material goods, and mainly, that is family.
