4-0 out of 5 stars I Was There!!!
I attended this concert at Denver Colorado's Mile High and at Dallas Texas Super Dome. These were excellent concerts and the DVD captures the quality performance of this tour. Dave Gilmour brought this together very well without Roger Waters; whom I am also a great fan. The audio and video are stimulating and is well worth the money and the long wait. I would have given this DVD a five star rating but that rating goes to Floyds 1987 concert 'Delicate Sound of Thunder', which I also attended at Kansas City's Arrowhead stadium. The intensity and arrangment of this show surpases Pulse and the performance of 'The Great Gig in the Sky' still gives me a pleasent shiver when I play the VHS. Personally I like Momentary Lapse of Reason music more than Pulse. The Delicate performance did have a higher energy level. I own both on VHS and was very pleased to purchase Pulse on DVD to add to my collection. If you like this concert you owe it to yourself to view DSOT. All in all, Pulse is a very, very good concert video and most buyers will not be disappointed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Show
First off, i knew this had been shot on video and knew the DVD would not look as good as i expected. So i can forgive some of the terrible shots in this film. Second, this is an excellent show. Not many bands these days give you such a complete audio visual experience. Thirdly, i can say it's about time this finally came out on DVD. It was worth the wait and iw as itching to get rid of the crumbling videotape i had of this. There are flaws, but they are not numerous and are forgivable. Unless you are an audio or videophile you should enjoy this DVD. If not, just buy the CD's.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth The Wait - Wish I was There
Finally the wait is over.Grab this with both hands.I had the VHS for years and wondered why it was never released on DVD until now.The concert footage is awesome (complete with laser beam show and blistering special effects only possible in a huge stadium like Wembly) and sounds just great.Just like being at a Floyd concert.A must for any who has seen them live or owned the CD / VHS.I missed the concert so this is the next best thing - but play it on a big screen, the bigger the better. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A must have
Charlie Brown is classic. You'll love his simple style and humor and the kids will too.It reminds me of simpler times in life without all the clutter and business of today. There's no fighting, special powers, x-ray vision, etc.Just Charlie Brown and the gang learning about life and teaching important lessons along the way.

5-0 out of 5 stars Achtung Baby / Zoo TV = Rock's second Sgt. Pepper ?
Incredible ! Zoo TV , 12 years on and still holding up strong...IMHO Achtung Baby / Zoo TV was as revolutionary, groundbreaking and mezmerizing to 90s Rock as The Beatle's Sgt. Pepper was in the 60's.
5-0 out of 5 stars More of a rock spectacle than a concert
Live from Sydney is the first DVD release to actually take place long before the others. Done around the Achtung Baby/Zooropa era, the DVD is missing a lot of those songs from Pop to All That You Can't Leave Behind and Atomic Bomb. For some it's great (I mean, how often can we see Beautiful Day and Elevation on a DVD?) while others wish that certain songs were included or that the concert took place after a certain record. Zoo TV was just the precursor to the band's too-ambitious PopMart tour yet at the same time it's great to see that spectacle aspect.
5-0 out of 5 stars Finally
The last great U2 stadium tour is finally on DVD.Also, Bono's voice sounds just as good on this as it did in the early years of the band's history...most fans have come to the sad realization that Bono's voice is just a shadow of what this DVD will show it used to be.

5-0 out of 5 stars Angel of Music or DIVA: ITS ALL THE SAME
Brightman does not fail with the term DIVA and the video collection perfectly captures that. After 25yrs. Sarah Brightman continues to capture the hearts of millions world-wide. The video collection encompasses many of her videos and biggest hits, especially her international hit duet with Andrea Bocelli on "Time to Say Good-Bye". Not only is it a video collection, its even better to call this collection a greatest hits package. From her days on Broadway ("Phantom of the Opera"), to her more thematic, solo performances like "Capt. Nemo", "How Can Heaven Love Me", or "Harem". Also included are her more Classical/Vocal hits like the controversial "Ave Maria" and "Just Show Me How to Love You" (duet with Jose Cura).
4-0 out of 5 stars Great apart from the mess they make of Captain Nemo
This is a well presented and detailed DVD which features between-song interviews with SB herself, for a total of nearly 2 and a quarter hours of entertainment for her fans.
5-0 out of 5 stars Divine Diva
Classical-pop singer Sarah Brightman has always had a flair for the dramatic -- exotic, fanciful concerts to match her music. Now her music videos are compiled in "Diva: The Video Collection," with Brightman singing many of her most popular songs against exquisite scenery and backdrops.

    5-0 out of 5 stars November 6th, 2004-----What a night!!
My first encounter with Yanni was on TV years ago when I stumbled upon his Live at the Acropolis sometime back in '98. Like most of us, I was channel surfing and stopped on PBS just when drummer Charlie Adams was doing his now-famous routine. Wow. I watched the rest of the segment and got on the phone to PBS and ordered a VHS tape (I did not have a DVD player) and just about wore out the tape from repeated viewings.

4-0 out of 5 stars Finaaaally!!!
This is a fantastic DVD, it sounds awesome (courtesy of Steven Wilson's excellent mix), has a great look, filmed on Hi-Def digital cameras, widescreen format and almost everything you would expect.
4-0 out of 5 stars Close to perfection
Simply put, this is an excellent production by an excellent band. I agree with most of the positive comments in the other reviews. This is a band that clearly knows TASTE. As I have already said in my title, this is a near perfect DVD with rich, clear sound quality. I deduct a star for a few minor quibbles:
5-0 out of 5 stars Something fans of quality music can enjoy!
Porcupine Tree has to be one of the best bands of the past decade.I just recently bought a cd of there's a year ago and have since been blown away by there talent. This dvd is something that critical fans of quality music will enjoy.I am fortunate to own some excellent equipment and the audio quality is top notch. The instruments are very clear and distinguishable. The video quality is not as perfect as you would hope but too me it is acceptable.I am sure they didn't have an unlimited budget and had to spend less somewhere. The video editing is perfect for me.I actually enjoy watching them play.I am not a fan of the Iron Maiden approach of changing screen shots every 2-4 seconds. This is a must buy if you are PT fan. If you never heard of them and are interested in quality progressive rock - this is something that you might want to experiment. I hope this review shed some light and wasn't one of this - "this rocks" - useless reviews. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
Well, most people know what this is.I will look at the production a bit. This DVD is something sort of new in the Concert venues. This feels like an intimate setting and the camera work is very much NOT like an MTV type of video or of a typical Concert video.
5-0 out of 5 stars Does the DVD come with a booklet?
I am wondering if they've included some sort of booklet with this release?

5-0 out of 5 stars mike mioton rn
As an older fan, I've been around Neil Young's talented musical career a long time. This dvd includes both new material and some of the old favorites my generation knows well. This was a very well developed dvd, well shot and produced, done in a historical old buidling (the old Opry house in Nashville, TN) with an excellent compilation of musicians, who have been associated with Mr. Young for many years.Besides the music, which I thoroughly enjoyed, the commentary by Mr. Young and his associates was a pleasure to hear and enjoy as well.I found the second dvd very interesting and informative. It was also very touching to see Ms. Pegi Young on stage with her husband participating in the musical work.Truly one of the best entertainment dvds I've seen and own and will continue to enjoy, from time to time.PS - my best to their daughter who has probably finished with college by now since this production was done in August 2005.Nice job, Neil....I enjoy your style! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars New Parrothead Because of This Concert
I had never attended a Jimmy Buffet concert before...and didn't think I would be particularly interested to do so.But because of a business request, there I was at Wrigley for the Monday concert only 10 or 12 rows back from the stage and had no idea what to expect.I was familiar with only a handful of Buffet tunes over the years, but little did I know what was in store for the afternoon. All I can say is I was instantly transformed into a Parrothead! What a fun experience to be there with thousands of happy people dressed in all manner of tropical attire singing every word to every song. Some people dismiss Buffet's songs as "escapism", and some certainly are.But other songs make you think.Disc One captures the sound and feel of that afternoon at Wrigley.Several songs he did that day are not on this DVD, but that's okay.Just being at Wrigley for that historic event was cool, and this DVD allows me to relive it again and again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Finnaly comes to dvd
The concert isn't as long as I thought it was, by the look of the dvd, it looks like it runs approximatly 2 hours and 45 minutes. But it abou 2 hours and 15 minutes, that counts both shows that are seen on this dvd, the first one being about a hour long, and the 2nd one, about 75 minutes long, but here you do the math. I didn't think any of the concert was recored, expect for what you saw on the local news, but I am glad they finnaly brought it out on dvd, and they didn't even play the show on TV. The first disc has songs from Act I of the afternoon show that was recored on Labor Day of 05, and disc 2 is the show that did the night before. So you might be disappointed that act II of the afternoon show is not on the dvd. After the first 2 songs on disc 1, Jimmy Buffet takes off his home white Chicago Cubs uniform that he has on, don't worry he has another shirt on underneath, and autographes it, and annouces that it will be sold on e-bay. The songs in the concert on disc one are Piece of work, The Pascagoula run, Hey good lookin', Changes in Latitudes, changes in attitudes, I will play for Gumbo, Come Monday, Last mango in Paris, Woman goin' crazy on Carloine street, License to chill, Son of a son of a sailor, Cheeseburger in paradise, Volcano, and Brown Eted Girl. The songs in the concert on disc 2 are Why don't we get drunk, La vie dansante, Banana republics, Southern cross, School boy heart, A pirate looks at Forty, The City, It's 5 o'clock somewhere, One paricular harbour, Margaritaville, Fins, Scarlet begonias, and City of New Orleans. The 2nd disc actally begins with the late Steve Goodman singing Go Cubs Go. And in between A pirate looks Forty and The city, Jimmy Buffet is seen singing Take me out to the ballgame in the Cubs' TV booth. The people that are stage are, starting with the vocals and guitar are Jimmy Buffet, Peter Mayer, Jim, Mayer on bass guitar and vocals andMac McAnally. And now for the Coral Reffer Band, Michael Utley on keyboards, Robert Greenbridge on steel drums and timbales, Ralph MacDonald on percussion, Roger Guth on drums, Doyle Grishman on pedal steel guitar, Amy Lee and Tom Mitchell on saxophone, John Lovell on Trumpet, and special guest on keyboards Bill Payne. The vocalists are Nadirah Shakoor, and Tina Gullickson, and finnaly the dancers are Heather Perry and Louisa Kendrick. Before Labor Day weekend of 05, Wrigley Field was only used from sports games, but mainly for Chicago Cubs home games. So Jimmy Buffet becomes the first singer/musican to use Wrigley Field for a concert venue, and hey if they did it once, they can do it again.

3-0 out of 5 stars Long Time Buffett Fan Disappointed
Just turning 60 young years a Parrot Head since I lived on St. Thomas in the mid 70's, I'm a long time Buffet fan.I looked forward to the DVD, but I must say this was a disappointment. Can someone explain to me the purpose of the dancing girls? What a distraction.I just loved it when Buffet would walk stage right or stage left and disappear because there was no lighting.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic
This DVD is worth it just to watch what goes on in James Taylor face and his eyebrows in an old clip of him singing Steamroller. Whew. Alot going on there.
5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for James Taylor fans
What can you say but that it's great we get to share in a treasure. It begins with Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks pounding out "Shower the People," which only gets better when Arnold joins in. Big, big song and you can tell already its going to be a big show. Some songs are close to what we usually hear from James, in others you can see that the artist is making the song their own, but that it is still distinctly a James Taylor song.
5-0 out of 5 stars One Amazing Night
I was very fortunate to have been a volunteer at the Musicares Person of the Year Tribute to James Taylor on February 6, 2006. It was a spectacular evening filled with great music and a wonderful feeling. I haven't seen the DVD yet, but I am very much looking forward to it. If you're a fan, this is a must have. Stars performed James' music and talked about what his music and life's work has meant to each of them. I loved Sting's sweet and funny story about evaluating his own musical career prospects after seeing James play for the first time.

5-0 out of 5 stars 3 different bonus discs, or 2?
Tridd says that 2 retailers (Best Buy and Walmart) will be the only ones selling the 3 disc version but this Amazon page clearly states that the set has 3 discs. So, is the one Amazon is selling a bonus set? According to an official KISS website, Walmart will include the Largo 77 show, Best Buy will include the 1st night from Detroit 76 (3rd night is already part of Kissology set) and all other stores will have NYC 77, so I'd like to know if Amazon is one of the "all other stores" or if what is posted on Amazon's website is a misprint.
5-0 out of 5 stars 3rd disc answer
    D. Maselli "lecterhannibal4" is correct. I called Fontana Distributuion which will be distributing this for Kiss. They said Walmart and BestBuy will be the only 2 stores with the 3 disc version and the 3rd disc will be different. Walmart will have one version and Bestbuy will have the other. So, looks like I have to spend twice the money I had expected to make sure I have both of them.
5-0 out of 5 stars 2 discs-3 for the collector edition
To answer the previous question : the standard version of this box set has two discs (a customer allready gave the tacklisting for those). There will be a special-collector (or anyway you want to call it) version with a bonus disc. But it's still hard to say what will be found on that one. Some say it will include seven tracks from the 1977 Madison Square Garden show. Others that there will be three different bonus discs from different shows (that wouldn't surprise me-the Kiss fanatics will have to purchase three of those box sets to get the whole thing, hey, it's Kiss and they know how to make you spend your money). But if the tracks are really unedited, the two-discs version will have way enough to satisfy even the most dedicated Kiss fan. Can't wait to get my hands on that monster. And excuse my poor english, but I'm still learning it. ... Read more

This is "smooth jazz" on steroids, as Metheny and Mays have produced program music that sweeps the listener along like a John Williams movie score. It makes perfect sense, therefore, to go for the DVD over the CD.In fact, the shot selection and editing are so tightly coordinated with the music, it's as though the cinematographer is an integral part of the production, as crucial to the whole as one of the musicians.(Wagner would call such an integration of music and drama a true "gesamstwerk").
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but where is the intro?
This is a wonderful live rendition of the Group's "The Way Up" concert - at least the first half, where they play their latest album in its entirety. (It's one 68-minute piece.)

One word, WOW! Having attended every concert, this DVD is a full concert. Great music, full of joy. It is a foot thumper if you like European music sprinkled with good old American show songs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Unparalleled
Its a shame that I can only give 5 stars. This was the first stand-up performance of his that I had ever heard of or bought (and now I have them all).He is, without a doubt, the funniest person to have ever lived. His performances are hilareous every sinlge time I watch them.I find myself laughing out loud just thinking about his jokes. All of his performances are wonderful but if I had to choose, I'd choose this one.I just can't wait for his new material.

5-0 out of 5 stars Funny funny funny
He is simply the funniest human on the planet at this time.I have, literally, laughed so hard at times I thought I might have a heart attack.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better Than Having Coffee with the President of Burundi!!
This is, without a doubt, one of THE most incredible stand-up comedy performances of all time! Eddie Izzard is without equal! You can absolutely see why John Cleese called him "the funniest man in Britain." And one of the best things about him is that the more you know about history, literature, culture, current events, etc., the funnier he becomes. However, by the same token, he's not one of those pretentious, "hold on a second, let me pull out my dictionary/thesaurus/book of Latin quotations/French cookbook/copy of National Review magazine," pseudo-intellectual comic snobs, a la Dennis Miller. Instead, think of him more as the comic Yin to Larry the Cable Guy's Yang (or Twang, LOL). This is a must-see for anyone with a dry sense of humor and/or half a brain! ... Read more

Martin Scorsese's 1978 capsule history of the Band is mixed with footage of the group's allegedly last performance (certainly their last performance as a quintet) in this particularly stylish concert film. 5-0 out of 5 stars A Great 1970's Music Moment
When I saw The Last Waltz I knew it was for a moment in time which would never come back. The artists were so special and so good and now some are no longer with us. I loved Joanie Mitchell's number and the Band's many numbers as well as Van Morrison's number. Robbie Robertson was so good looking.

3-0 out of 5 stars It only took six measures
Six measures into the first tune, "Don't Do It," I knew they'd blown it with this release. As a fan of the movie for years, I wore out my videocassette copy, and grabbed the Special Edition DVD.

    Editorial Review

Well-known children's musician Laurie Berkner bursts onto the children's music video scene with the energy and enthusiasm of her concert stage appearances fully intact. The Laurie Berkner Band, comprised of Laurie Berkner on vocals and guitar, Brian Mueller on bass and vocals, and Susie Lampert on keyboard and vocals (joined sporadically by Bob Golden on drums and additional instruments), is an accomplished group of musicians who create and perform whimsical, catchy children's songs in a folksy rock style. From the playful rhymes that declare Tuesday "snooze day" in "I'm Gonna Catch You"to the absurd image of fish taking showers and brushing their teeth in "The Goldfish," Laurie Berkner's songs celebrate a child's love of the ridiculous. The uninhibited trio performs live onstage ("Under a Shady Tree") or within simply animated scenes ("Bumblebee--Buzz, Buzz, Buzz") and the songs are undisputedly catchy--so catchy that many parents sheepishly admit to humming or even singing Laurie Berkner's songs full voice even when their children aren't around. In these days of splashy animation and over-thought, overly-glitzy children's music videos, it's a real treat to enjoy a simple production that features songs that kids love performed by musicians who appear to be having just as much fun as their young audiences. 5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have!
I bought this after my daughter watched just a few of the infomercials and started singing the songs. She loves it!!The only problem I have with the CD is that it doesn't have enough songs on it!All the songs are easy for the kids to memorize and they are pretty silly!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for the whole family!
My daughter loves this music, and my husband and I find ourselves siging these songs all day.Not annoying lilke most kids music, fun to sing to with my daughter.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a great DT DVD!
Dream Theater is great in the studio. But their live albums all are difficult to take because James Labrie sings consistently flat on ALL of them, which is a very big disappointment. (Want an example - watch the concert videos on the second disc of the Score DVD). I have heard this is because the live albums are recorded toward the end of the tours. Indeed, I saw DT in 2003 on the second night of their tour with Queensryche and LaBrie's voice was top notch.
5-0 out of 5 stars Stunning!!!!
Having been a DT fan since Images And Words, I can't express just how brilliant this show is. While so many people lambasted Octavarium, I find it to be their most diverse release to date. Seeing the title track performed with such precision is the highlight of this 2 disc set for me. That, coupled with the full presentation of Six Degrees,is worth the DVD price alone.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bloody awful
This is just awful. And I mean spine-tingingly bad. The songs are so terrible and so insistent that it makes you feel like kicking the TV in. The idea of the film is certainly interesting....certainly if it weren't played out as a musical. But it is and you can just see some of the actors baffled as to the sheer stupidity of what their doing. Some such as Tim Curry revel in the sheer nonsense this film provides. But seriously, those songs are beyond awful. My hatred for them rivals having to listen to Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights and that's intense. But Kate Bush has made some great songs so that's OK. This however, is the movie equivalent of getting an axe through your spinal cord. How it's achieved cult status is something that will have to go down on the peculiar habits of humans.

A classic! A Must See! Although not really intended for kids my daughter at 4 used to love the music and dance along...now at 14 she still loves the songs but she thinks the movie is kinda corny. Us adults however, love the movie and of course the soundtrack too. Can't help but catch yourself singing along. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wondrous Christmas, Magic of Writer Romeo Muller
There are four incomparably wondrous Christmas films in this five-film set, and those four were all written by one man who overflowed with the magic of love and with a most magical, indeed divine, gift of the storyteller's art ...

This is my wife's favorite Christmas TV show. When I was researching buying the Rudolph DVD, I noticed that a lot of people were commenting on their displeasure with the add on music video from Destiny's Child. The great thing about this set is that the Rudolph print is the original un-cut 1964 show. For a few extra dollars you also get all those other shows which are great too.

For all those reviewers here yearning for a comprehensive Oscar-winning documentary, knowing darned well this was just clips from Stewarts's home movies, get a life! This is not that movie!! Talk to Scorcese about what you want, and quit yer whining.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Drummer. Amateur Filmmaker.
Stewart Copeland is the best rock-reggae drummer ever. Unfortunately, he's not a very good cinematographer. This movie starts out strong propelled by Stewart's narration. Towards the end however, the film loses interest. The general crappiness of the video and audio starts to weigh the film down around Ghost In The Machine. When he stops speaking, it really bogs down.
