5-0 out of 5 stars Interjection...HEY! This Is Great For Kids!
Are you a parent now that remembers these from your childhood and you're asking yourself, "Could Schoolhouse Rock! possibly still be as captivatingly educational as it was in the 70s?" or perhaps you're saying to yourself, "These are so dated my kids would never stay tuned." Let's put it this way...This is one of my kids' most requested DVDs (ages three through seven), and they walk around the house singing about nouns, the branches of the government, counting by 5s, electricity and the National 'Tyrannosaurus' Debt.
5-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, Educational, and a Touch of Nostalgia
Those of us who grew up as kids in the 80's will remember watching these short animation clips on TV, accompanied by catchy music and memorable lyrics. These cartoonish music videos that lasted less than five minutes somehow managed to teach us concepts that required dedicated lesson plans in school. This is the essence of Schoolhouse Rock.
5-0 out of 5 stars Schoolhouse Rock rocks!
I bought this for my nieces to help them with their math. The songs are just as good as I remember!I didn't know about all the other ones they made after I stopped watching those Saturday morning cartoons. It really is an award winning collection... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What every parent should know!!!!!!!!!!!
This is an absolute must have for any new parent.I thought I was going to loose my mind, until this fantastic book, dvd, and cd (I have all three) arrived!!!!!My baby was sleeping maximum an hour and a half, from one day to the next, she started sleeping the whole night (8-10 hours) without waking up once!!!!!!She was only 4-weeks old!!!!!!It has changed my perspective on motherhood and I can now enjoy my baby even more than I was!!!!!!!!!!!!Do yourself, and your baby, a HUGE favor, buy this now! After my mom saw how easily I could calm my baby with these techniques, she said that she wished she would have known about it when my sister was a baby...maybe a lot would be different now that she's 25.It's amazing...truly amazing! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great-but I wish the producers could develop a slower paced, more simplistic video for preschoolers/developmetally delayed kids
Thanks for making this wonderful video. My four year old son did understand some of the important messages. For example when I asked him what to do if someone asked him to,"come with me and I'll give you some Disney car toys," he actually yelled, "run." (he loves Disney Pixar car toys).
5-0 out of 5 stars Really Good Video
As a father of an 11 year-old, this was a really excellent purchase we made a couple of years ago.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good for kids 5 and up
My four year old was very distracted by the dog and gorilla, and the pace of the movie was too fast for him.He didn't "get it" and he couldn't talk coherently about the three types of people (don't knows, kinda knows, etc) after watching it.The humor was too bizarre and too distracting. It's probably very good for older kids, though. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Potty Training!
My son is 2 1/2 and has no real interest in usng the potty although we talk about it all of the time. :) But when he watches this DVD, he answers the questions, sings the songs, and "gets" the Big Kid concept... AND has begun using the potty. He is more likely to use the potty after watching the video, but heck, it's a start! The songs are catchy, the stories are cute...I think it was well thought-out and well done. I mean, this is a potty video, what can you really expect?

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW what a difference
My son is 2 years 4 months and has never shown anything but resistence towards potty training. I purchased this movie about two weeks ago. My son loves the songs and walks around singing them. (Even my 13 month old stops to watch it.) He asks for this movie all the time! He has since gone pee pee in his potty chair and frequently asks to sit on the BIG potty. I am very impressed.

1-0 out of 5 stars Fine for girls, not great for boys
First of all, this video is only about 25 minutes long, so there's not a lot of room for content.I bought this for my 2.5 year-old son, and we were all disappointed. The "Princess and the Potty" story held NO interest for him at all, so the video is even shorter in our house. Also, there's no discussion about accidents, boys standing to pee, or other issues that need to be covered for training. If you have a boy, I suggest thinking about a different video, such as "It's Potty Time!" or the Elmo potty video. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Program
I got this DVD after reading dozens of glowing reviews. Now that I've used it, I am thrilled to have this DVD in my collection. The tests set up in such an intuitive manner, with helpful instructions on how to use each one. A complete walk-through takes you through the basic adjustments in detail. I was amazed at how out-of-line the picture on my television really was!The difference now is amazing!5 stars for this amazing program!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful tool - Had my system tuned up under an hour
The tools on the CD are easy to navigate and the tones and patterns were extremely helpful in fixing some out of phase errors and channel balancing. I was suprised about how much better my system sounded after using these tools. Well worth the $$.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great DVD
Little Einsteins is the best DVD ever! My daughter is two years old and she loves watching the Little Einsteins series on the Disney channel. So she recieved this DVD for her birthday and loves it! She can't get enough and wants to watch it over and over again. She pats right along with the team and puts her hands up in the air and says "blastoff". I love how this video makes your child feel like they are really helping and that builds great self confidence, Go Einsteins!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic must-own DVD for any little einstein fans
WE are huge fans of Little einsteins in this household. I hate the baby einsteins DVD's with a passion but little einsteins is different! It introduces music, instruments, timbres, italian musical terminology, geography, science, art... All of which can be built upon by the discerning parent! I am a music graduate and taught music for 10 years and am very hard to please! This fantastic series brings the arts more mainstream! I love the way that the plot is not dumbed down and has language that is approachable and extends sufficiently. My 2 year old is a massive fan, has learnt the italian terms quickly just from the show and recognizes the pieces from the DVD. It's funny to hear a 2 year old asking asking to listen to Beethoven's 9th - and not just the parts that are known from the DVD! A great intro to 'classical' music if you haven't got your child hooked into it yet.
2-0 out of 5 stars Fun but incredibly stereotyped
My son enjoyed his Baby Einstein videos, and we decided to test drive this one on him. He enjoyed it, although was not exactly engrossed and certainly did not start yelling out musical terms. However, I am never going to buy or watch any Little Einsteins for one very simple reason: it's extremely stereotyped. The main characters are a boy (the leader/conductor, big surprise - ok at least he has glasses), his younger sister (a blonde, gee!), a vaguely Asian girl who dances and an African-American boy who plays...prepare to be astonished...a trumpet. Why exactly couldn't they have a girl as leader? A boy who dances? This may seem trivial, but this may be a kid's first introduction to gender roles, at least on TV, so I take it seriously. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Paul Owens - The ORIGINAL Dog Whisperer
For those or you who are griping that this DVD is not Cesar Millan, you should learn something.Paul Owens is the ORIGINAL dog whisperer. He wrote the book, The Dog Whisperer, long before Cesar was in business!Paul Owens is a highly-educated animal behaviorist who knows how to correctly communicate with a dog - without techniques like hanging, rolling, choking, e-collars, leash pops, choke chains, hand bites or foot corrections. If you purchased this DVD thinking it was Cesar, you should have looked at the name of the author!Someone should explain copyright infringement to Cesar and National Geographic for using the name The Dog Whisperer when it properly belonged to Paul Owens.
5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible results!
I rescued a 6 week old puppy about 5 weeks ago and this is the first training I've gotten my hands on that works!I have read Ceasar's book (and like it a lot). And I've also ready Shelby Marlo's book (another great find). But none of their tips helped me with the "nipping" problems I've been having with Sierra. Now, after only 2 days of working with her using Paul's methods Sierra's behaviors have drastically changed and we're able to have fun with behavior modification rather than it feeling like punishment.

1-0 out of 5 stars This item borders on false advertising
I did a search for Cesar Milan (known on TV as the Dog Whisperer) and a number of items came up including this one. For author it just says "by Dog Whisperer". Well this isn't by Cesar at all. It's a complete piece of junk. Don't buy this. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful pictures and real-life 4D sonograms
This movie is actually a combination of 4-dimensional real-time sonograms and re-created "animation" of a fetus developing.I don't mean cartoon animation, but just a re-creation of a baby in an actual womb. With both, the fetus is actually moving around and shown exactly as it develops, moves, etc.I would say there is about 5 whole minutes of 4D sonogram footage and the rest is re-creation footage (which is very detailed and much more appealing to watch). We are currently studying biology and life science so this movie was very appropriate and fit in well with our biology books and materials.A new tidbit that I had yet to read or hear was that sperm could smell the egg, which helps them to find it.We giggled over that part, which was entirely new to us.There is only about 5 minutes devoted to actual childbirth and only one quick view of the baby's head and shoulders being born. This movie is definitely more about the baby's development in the womb and what happens at what stage. There is also some remarkable footage of real-life surgery on an infant while in the womb to inflate his lungs, which are being crushed by his intestines. The movie says this increases the survival rate for babies with this defect by 50%.That's remarkable.I would also highly recommend this movie to anyone considering abortion, so they could make a more informed decision. At 3 or 4 months, there really is no question that it's a baby.

5-0 out of 5 stars I loved it!
I heard really good things about this show, so I just had to buy it.I watched it with my sister in law, and we were totally blown away!It had so many interesting facts, and it wasn't boring either!I greatly recommend to anyone!

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding images!
The first time we saw this program was on Discovery Channel Health. As we caught it in the middle, we decided to buy us a copy so we could see it from the very beginning. We were amazed by the details, all the claryfing information the DVD brought us.

The beauty of this entry in the Baby Einstein catalog is its integration of puppets, toys, and live farm footage to help babies and toddlers make the connection between their plastic play sets and stuffed animals with images of a real farm. As always, the spoken language is minimal, omitting the pesky verbs and adjectives that would confuse the very young. The 30-minute main program is divided into sections: barns and equipment, animals, planting crops, and harvesting. Background music ranges from "Old MacDonald" to Schumann, and DVD extras include a 6-minute puppet show and visual "discovery cards" identifying animals and farm paraphernalia with a single word. 5-0 out of 5 stars Baby MacDonald: Perhaps Baby Einstein's Best!
My children both love this DVD!My daughter is just turning three and my son is 9 months old.He giggles with delight when he sees the characters, and my daughter sings the E-I-E-I-O song along with the DVD.I am always impressed with the Baby Einstein videos and their other products, but this is by far my favorite.I'm annoyed easily, and these had truly never gotten on my nerves. What I like best is that my children actually enjoy watching something with educational value.I find Baby MacDonald particularly cute though, it's just a very fun DVD for all ages.I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone!

5-0 out of 5 stars Info on the Baby Einstein Series
Here is information on all the current 21 Baby Einstein DVDs including suggested times to introduce them to your little one. This information IS NOT available with the DVD sets but I gleaned it from several sources for my own use. You may like to print this out for future reference.
5-0 out of 5 stars Love them. love them love them
I would suggest these videos to anyone with young children. I have a 2yr old and he still loves them. he started watching them at 4 months old. he still loves. and at night if we play them it helps him go to sleep. I have 8 of the baby einsteins and paid $15.00 dollars a piece for them and even $17.00 for some. so the fact that u get 16 videos for that price is a sweet deal. i wish i had known about it. I think that if a child starts out at a young age watching them then they'll even like them when they are older.

3-0 out of 5 stars DIDN'T REALLY HELP MY CHILD
I bought this DVD about three months ago for my son, who at the time was 19m, and not talking at all. I watched the DVD all the time because I thought if he saw it a lot he would start to repeat the words. I would repeat the words as well thinking if I said it he might repeat it. After about a month I stopped watching it because he started to seem disinterested..... Well he is now 22 months and he hasn't watched the video in over two months and he's now started to talk. If I put our camera in front of him and tell him to say "cheese" he repeats "cheese". He says "uh-oh", "dog", "hi", and a few other words he wasn't saying three months ago... I don't think this video helped him. I think he's ready to talk now and that's basically all it was. He just wasn't ready before.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great DVD for Speech Delayed Toddlers
Even if your kids don't watch TV, they will like this video. My son NEVER watched anything on TV until this video. He has a very short attention span, so we started with just watching 2 minutes, then 5 minutes, etc..Now he watches almost 20 minutes at a time (not everyday, but most days). He really enjoys it.It is simple and fun.The writers offer good parent tips at the end of the "show" for kids.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not just for the child
I'm very sorry that I didn't find this video a bit earlier in my child's speech development. She's just over two, and just a little bit delayed, so this video wasn't much help for her.It says it works for 3-30 months, but I think that it's aimed toward a level of development that my daughter is already past.BUT, I will say that the techniques used are very good, and I plan to use it for my 4 mo daughter starting now.

    Editorial Review

The Baby Einstein Company's "video board books" were designed as music-focused developmental tools to stimulate babies' brains (prompted by researchproving that exposure to classical melodies can improve verbal ability, spatialintelligence, creativity, and memory in youngsters). Now the company isexpanding into other art forms, including color and art. The idea remains thesame--taking bold, beautiful objects (toys, puppets, nature scenes) and settingthem to fun renditions of classical music (their recordings are easily the bestin the crowded field of child development). A new puppet--Vincent Van Goat--introduces the six primary colors and associates them with Van Gogh'spaintings--"The Starry Night" for blue, "Wheat Fields with Reaper" for yellow. The only misstep is the poetry written and read by creator Julie Aigner-Clark, which is strongly reminiscent of Dr. Seuss's Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My two month old loves it!
I can't believe he likes these being so young, but he does. At two months old, he loves the different colors and stares at the TV the whole time. This one is really good. I sit with him and guide him a little, but he seems to respond to the colors and the music.
5-0 out of 5 stars Baby Einstein does it again!
We have quite the collection of Baby Einstein DVD's and this one does not disappoint. It has lots of puppets, which my 16 month LOVES.The only downfall is it is very short. . . .only about 25 minutes of actual video time. The newer Baby Einstein's are very disappointing. . . mostly animation which does not hold my little boy's attention.Van Gogh though has the original charm of the first Baby Einstein's.A great addition to your DVD collection.

4-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining baby video
My daughter has been watching this one since she was 4 months old and still loves it at 10 months. She loves the puppets and toys.My only issue with it is the volume. For each color, there is a vignette featuring a puppet with a voice-over of a poem about the color. It is impossible to hear the poem unless you really crank the volume up.All other sounds (background, sound effects, and music) are normal. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars everything you could hope for in sesame street
this is the only video that keeps my 18mt old daughter entertained and its a whole hour. i love all the songs well except where the frog sings i think is too slow almost sad other than that all the songs are catchy. i would definetly recomend this video

5-0 out of 5 stars A great DVD!
My year old twins LOVE this DVD. We received it as a gift and after the great response from our twins, we bought them for all the birthday gifts for their1 year old friends this year. My twins learned to dance watching this. It occupies them for so long, I have to go in and repeat it when it is over. Baby Einstein used to be their favorite until this came into our home. And it is like a blast from the past, as I remember a lot of the songs from my childhood. I wish they would make another just like this with even more songs. You won't be disappointed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Kids love it, why the African theme?
Good or bad, I don't remember Sesame Street having a predominantly African theme when I was watching it as a kid in the 70's and 80's.In contrast, this video has classic Sesame Street clips sprinkled in with a very African theme. My kids do love it.I guess it just seems to me that a video celebrating 25 years of Sesame Street should be true to what Sesame Street was for the past 25 years. ... It's called "the Mozart Effect," the notion that exposing youngsters tothe melodies of the maestro can improve verbal ability, spatial intelligence, creativity, and memory. It's a pretty big leap of faith to understand that effect unless you personally see a toddler react to the stimulation. The Baby Einstein folks have a series of tapes (Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars love it!
I have bought several products by the Baby Einstein company, and my daughter (now 8 months) loves every single one! Especially the Baby Beethoven/Bach/Mozart DVDs are a hit. My only gripe about these DVDs is that you cannot skip the first chapters (warnings, advertising for Little Einsteins show, etc), but I've found that on my laptop I can skip through all of that, and it's even easier for my daughter to watch and focus on the screen than on our TV.

5-0 out of 5 stars Important Info That Doesn't Come With DVDs
Baby Mozart: Music Festival is an award winning DVD that introduces your baby to the classical music of Mozart with visually stimulating real-world objects on screen. Lots of moving and engaging visuals, mostly toys in motion, are designed to be simple enough to get your baby's attention while complex enough to hold it for a while. If your baby likes Baby Bach or Baby Beethoven (and very few babies don't) she'll like Baby Mozart as well. This DVD is appropriate for introduction to baby right from birth but will still hold her attention many, many months later.

5-0 out of 5 stars Corny but True:This works "By the Book!"
I suppose my testimonial is sort of corny as I have to report that all the things Clint wrote about in his book "9 Free Secrets of New Sensual Power"and in this DVD are ALL TRUE.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very good
This video is very good and I would recomend it to anyone. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the video quality is bad.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I really did not know what to expect -- other than the fact that this was supposed to be something new and different.I kept an open mind, and I did the "technique" just the way the guy described it.The result was -- much to my surprise -- new to us both, much different and more intense than the sex we have been experiencing all of our lives.Who woulda thunk! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars NICE IDEA, BUT SEXIST AND A HORRIBLE TRANSLATION
We expose our babies/toddlers to a wide variety of cultural sources, in several languages. Therefore, having seen similar products it seemed logical to purchase this one, given it is touted as a multilingual introduction to their environment (our little ones are trilingual: English, Spanish and ASL, and they ignore us in all them!).Big mistake. The video not only reinforces but solidifies the sexist portrayal of love so prevalent in other Baby Einstein (BE) items. In earlier BE products one could see only female hands manipulating objects as they presented them on screen.Male hands were never present. This video goes many steps furhter by featuring male figures only in the background, or at best, an elderly man briefly interacting with a child.Everywhere else you see multiple females lovingly playing, caring or otherwise being nurturing to children.Males are only seen (with the exception of a black couple in bed while kids jump to play with them) in a distant background in entirely detached attitudes, or at least distant, dry and quiet poses, such as talking with a much older (male) child. It is as if they are shown there as part of the domestic landscape, however as movable and inane as potted plants, whom you can move and place at will.I felt insulted by this condescending and disqualifying view of male love and nurturing abilities.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money.
I am a HUGE fan of Baby Einstein. My son loves them all.He is 2 and a half, and still watches them.I love them also, because they are so nice on the ears.I can't STAND the background noise of most kids shows.Especially over and over and over!!But Baby Einstein is pleasant and nice to watch.BUT Baby Wordsworth is stupid and not worth 1.00 at a garage sale.We have not even made it through the whole thing one single time.My son won't sit still for even 5 minutes of it.Save your money. If you want something to help you with vocabulary, we LOVE Baby Babble. It's a must!My son learned several words from it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too slow
I am a lover of ALL things Einstein, and a speech therapist so I was excited when I got this dvd.Unfortunately the pace is so slow, and they only show the sign for each item two times about five minutes apart. It is not nearly enough for a small child or a child with delays to pick up.I can barely watch it, and its the ONLY ONE my 11 month old doesn't watch, and I think we have 6 dvds. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars poor quality CD
My CD was of poor quality.I bought this brand new, but after 10 minutes the CD freezes and skips and is unusable.Maybe I just got a lemon.

3-0 out of 5 stars Useful, looking for more...
Paul Lam's Tai Chi, the 24 forms will likely suffice for this beginner interested in Tai Chi.His form and technique appear to be expert and precise and he does explain the movements as various colleagues demonstrate them. With time and patience and commitment one should be able to sort it out.
5-0 out of 5 stars Huge value for the money!
Dr. Lam's video was extremely helpful to me.I had been enrolled in a Tai Chi class and the room was crowded and it was very confusing to try to learn in this environment.I asked the instructor if there was a tape of his voice to follow to do after class for practice, but he would not even agree to let me bring in a recorder to make my own tape.Out of frustration I began looking for a DVD to supplement my class instruction. The class was a rather expensive, 18 session class and it was recommended by the instructor that beginning students actually take the class twice before moving on to the intermediate and advanced classes.Being VERY unfamiliar with Tai Chi, I hadn't realized when I signed up how very complicated it actually is.I would have been better off if I had gotten this DVD instead of taking the class. It teaches all of the moves, the correct way to do them, and I'm under no time limit on how quickly I have to learn. It's saved me time in the learning process, too, because I'm learning everything the correct way the first time I try.I found it VERY helpful and worthwhile.
