5-0 out of 5 stars How do I play The Royal LIfe ?
I love the movie! I just have one problem. I can't seem to be able to play The Royal Life from Disc 2? I put it in my computer and clicked on The Royal Life and it just gives me a summary of what it's about and then tells me to insert the dvd-rom. Does someone know how to do this?

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Cinderella is the film that saved the Walt Disney Company.
5-0 out of 5 stars Walt Disney's Best Movie
Disney made its mark as a major studio in 1937 with its first full-length feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Ironically, given this early success, Snow White was their only hit movie for the next 13 years. World War II kicked the hell out of Disney's overseas markets. Even movies today regarded as classic Disney - Pinnochio, Bambi, Fantasia - lost money on initial release. Disney eked through by diversifying into training films for the US government, and the South American films that were part of FDR's Good Neighbor policy, etc. - stuff that made back its costs but not much more. By 1948, Disney was in dire financial straits. They had just enough money for one more movie. Walt Disney realized he needed a hit or his studio probably wouldn't survive, and it would have to be what they did best: a full-length animated feature film. Walt said to himself, "What we need is a movie about a girl in trouble. Audiences love that. They loved Snow White." That's what he wanted: a movie like Snow White, but even more so - more comedy, more drama, more magic, more music, more lovable characters. He chose as the basis of his company's Hail Mary pass arguably the most famous fairy tale in the world: Cinderella.

It's still one of the sweetest kisses onscreen, up there with Bergman and Grant, Bogey and Bacall: the moment when pampered purebred Lady and streetwise mongrel Tramp, sharing a moonlit plate of spaghetti in an alley behind an Italian café, unknowingly slurp the same strand, and suddenly find their mouths meeting in surprise and tenderness. Ah, puppy love. Read more

Disney has announced that in January the Lady and the Tramp DVD will be put into the vault!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Most Romantic of All Disney Films
I fell in love with this movie when I was little, back in 1955 when "Lady and the Tramp" first came to the theaters, and am probably one of the few who can actually remember seeing the promo show, "The Story of Dogs" on the old Disneyworld TV series from the early 50's.I actually had the rare privildge of being taken twice! To this day, it remains my all-time favorite Disney film, favorite dog film, and continues to charm, amuse, and move me to tears.
5-0 out of 5 stars Romantic Comedy Goes to the Dogs
Lady and the Trap has been an enduring Disney classic for 50 years now and it's amazing how well it holds up after all that time. The hand painted animation is beautiful and the story and music are top notch. This film is an example of Disney animation at its classic best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well done!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this new edition
I am thrilled to get this 10th Anniversary edition and the book that comes with it as I am a great fan of this particular version of Pride & Prejudice.Only one thing disappointed me however .... I don't care for the way the discs are stored in the set. They are slid inbetween a cardboard envelope and it took alot of skill for me to get them out without feeling like I was scratching them up against the cardboard.I much rather prefer when the discs are easily snapped into a case as I feel they are better protected. Other than that, this is truly worth purchasing,if not for the book & bonus disc alone, which do not come with the 2-dvd original version.Buy it ... you won't be sorry!

5-0 out of 5 stars A great and true adaptation of an amazing novel.
I saw this when it first came out on the BBC. (I lived in England)I have to say it is one of those dramas that I will watch and watch and watch again.I love the characters and I think that the casting is one of the best. Jane Austen of course must be given the credit of a great story. But I commend the adaptation and staying true to the book.I read the novel after watching the film and was amazed by how well it stuck to the story.I love the settings and the views but I am an English country girl at heart so I would. But it is a true love story that can bring hope that we can all find our own Mr. Darcy. ... In a place called Halloweentown, good and evil look very different than one might expect. Thanks to a visit from Grandmother Aggie (Debbie Reynolds), Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown) and her family's tradition of ignoring the Halloween holiday are about to change in the extreme. It seems that Marnie's mother Gwen (Judith Hoag) has been hiding a big secret from her three children--all of them possess supernatural powers. Now that it's Marnie's thirteenth birthday, she must begin her training as a witch or lose her powers forever. While Gwen wants nothing more than to see her children grow up as "normal" humans, Grandmother Aggie and Marnie have other ideas.A brewing crisis between good and evil in the alternate world Halloweentown soon pulls the entire family through a portal and into an intense battle against ghouls, goblins and the warlock Kalabar (Robin Thomas).Read more

Oh, Anakin, Anakin...How I love thee, let me count the ways.....
5-0 out of 5 stars Will people ever stop complaining? As Vader would now say..."NOOOoooooOOOOoooo".
Let's get something straight- I am a Star Wars geek. For a few years, I practically lived for the series. When Episode I came around, my heart broke, and I became a more casual fan, but with tons of knowledge that the typical sane person shouldn't know about the characters and worlds. Like millions of others, Episodes I and II disappointed me beyond anything. George Lucas should've let someone else do the writing, and could've used a tad less CG in favor of real things. In fact, in my own little world, I like to believe that there were never prequels to Episodes IV, V and VI. Episode III here was supposed to be THE Star Wars to end all Star Warses (forgive that ridiculous just-made-up-word there). I saw it in theaters, and loved it. It was what Episodes I and II should've been. But upon a second viewing, not so much. Originally, I gave Episode III 4.5 stars. Now, it's more like just barely 3. That's not to say that casual fans won't enjoy it- they'll probably get more out of this one than the past two. I think a lot of it has to do with the hype of it being the final movie being gone now. The saga is complete. Everything's all here to be watched in full. And just as the original trilogy, there are some parts that you notice not being as great as they were that first time you saw them.
1-0 out of 5 stars A failure in narrative, just like the rest of the prequel trilogy.
Well, here we are, the big one, the one that was supposed to blow them all away, the one that was supposed to be the meat and potatoes of the Star Wars prequel trilogy, the big downfall that turned Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) into Darth Vader. The final result is a bit... underwhelming.

Emma Thompson scores a double bull's-eye with this marvelous adaptation of Jane Austen's novel. Not only does Thompson turn in a strong (and gently humorous) performance as one of the Dashwood sisters--the one with "sense"--she also wrote the witty, wise screenplay. Austen's tale of 19th-century manners and morals provides a large cast with a feast of possibilities, notably Kate Winslet, in her pre-Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A beautiful peice of classic cinema
    What a wonderful movie!
5-0 out of 5 stars Sense and Sensibility
Jane Austen was so wonderful at creating reality on the printed page. She sent up society by spot-on accurate portrayals of it. I feel like stressing this point. It sends up pretension by accurately portraying it. It is humour and realism at the same time. I can think of nobody better at doing this.
5-0 out of 5 stars A fine adaptation that will please most viewers, sans Grant
This film looks beautiful with that particular fresh and green loveliness that typifies the gentlefolk's 18th / 19th century England. It's a delight to watch, and the screenplay itself is wonderfully done, combining the sensible and likeable characters with the truly absurd characters, not to mention those whose characters are morally enfeebled. Jane Austen's depiction of human frailty as well as goodness has always impressed me as being true and very apt, striking home not merely with insightful viewing of human beings but also the very particular aspects that define a person of English gentility in the 1800s.

4-0 out of 5 stars Star Wars, Episode 1, Phantom Menace.Review by: Adam Platts
Star Wars Episode I, The Phantom Menace, easily qualifies as one of the best science fiction movies of recent years. While I would give each movie in the original trilogy 5 stars, I could only give this one 4 stars because of its "moments" of bad acting and weak story line.Imagine how great this movie would have been if it had been combined with Episode 2, saving only the best from each, and trimming away the dull parts.Ideally we would have seen Anakin quickly growing up in one movie, being trained in the ways of the Jedi.Instead we got stuck with a little kid throughout the whole movie, and worse - Jar Jar Binks.Overall, though, I'm just glad that the Star Wars movies returned to the big screen.
4-0 out of 5 stars episode I : The Phantom Menace
I think people are being way too hard on this film. The main reason people don'tlike it is because they were expecting Lucas to just remake the original trilogy. What people do not understand is that this is an entirely differnt galaxy that we are in. The entire galaxy has been changed as e enter episode IV. People don't understand that it's a differnt age.
2-0 out of 5 stars The Bad, The Ugly, And (Yes) The Good

Yes!! "Fist Pump", no more crappy movies, if only he had stopped making them after Return of the Jedi.
1-0 out of 5 stars Why does Obi-Wan Kenobi look like Jesus Christ?
Picking up 10 years later, Anakin Skywalker is no longer an adorable if stoic little kid but now a tall, gangly, jerky young man (Hayden Christensen) with a tendency to whine and bitch about stuff for no apparent reason (takes things way too personally he does). Well, him and his master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) are assigned to protect former queen turned senator Padme (Natalie Portman) after ten years apart from an assassin. This job eventually leads to Obi-Wan being separated from Anakin while he investigates the assassin who happens to be involved with a cloning conspiracy and this later leads him to a renegade Jedi master played by Christopher Lee. Guess what? Anakin still has the hots for Padme and whilst Obi-Wan is away Anakin would like nothing better than to strip her naked and get her in the sack. The future Darth Vader also has a nightmare about his mom's death back on Tatioone and he FINALLY goes to rescue her but by the time he gets there she's already dead so he goes and kills the cannibal Sand People who killed her.

Imaginatively rendered but slightly chilly, this 1951 Disney adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic is also appropriately surreal. Alice (voiced by Kathryn Beaumont) has all the anticipated experiences: shrinking and growing, meeting the White Rabbit, having tea with the Mad Hatter, etc. Characterization is very strong, and the Disney team worked hard to bring screen personality to Carroll's eccentric creations. For a Disney film, however, it seems more the self-satisfied sum of its inventiveness than a truly engaging experience. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nobody is not Trinity butbetter.
I am sure that if you are looking at this then you are a fan of the trinity movies. The Nobody character is based on Trinity but with much more refined.Terence Hill's Nobody has a certain directness and isa much fuller character.Henry Fonda's career in spaghetti westerns often gets overlooked and that is a real shame. If you compare this to his portrayal of Wyatt Earp then you can see that the love of the western never left him. This is much more the Fonda that one loves rather than the villian in "Once upon a Time in The West" (itself a great film).I love showing this to people that have never seen it. They usally like it and then I move on the the Trinity films.

4-0 out of 5 stars A charming tale of forbidden love
Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger (in that order) give a great performance in this Hollywood epic tale of forbidden love. With this movie you get all the best of Hollywood technology, scenery, audio, video, casting and acting. The story in my opinion gets a little long and drawn out, losing some of it's appeal potential. It consists of a 20 year relationship of two cowboys who fall in love in 1963 while herding sheep together in Wyoming. These two break the rules wherever necessary to share their romance known only to them and their clueless wives who eventually figure it out but don't know how to bring up the subject. As their marriages become strained over the years, their love for each other continues to grow, but can never become the full time relationship they crave. The story could have in my opinion been written much better for a screenplay. I think most anyone could have written a better ending for this saga, but that is nothing new for Hollywood. No matter how many millions of dollars they spend to make the perfect movie, none of them seem to know how to end one. If the subject matter of this film offends you, you WILL NOT want to see this one. Although it never gets explicitly graphic with the sex scenes, there's enough there to offend opponents of such film subject matter. All in all, I enjoyed the movie on DVD. I do not have a widescreen television, but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary on this widescreen version. Perhaps someone with a widescreen could better review this version. Beautiful scenery from Wyoming and mostly Canada. Great nostalgic representation. I recommend watching Brokeback Mountain if you are into gay romance. It is thought provoking and realistic for the era it represents.

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost a masterpiece, but not for everybody's taste...
I found this a little too long, a little too slow, a little too sad to rate five stars. Worth seeing once, it is an honorable effort to portray the power of forbidden love between two modern-day cowboys who would obviously vote Republican on all but gay issues, and perhaps even on some of those. Now that the film is a couple of years old, I think it is safe to reveal that one of the leads does not survive the film. That was the most disappointing part...we come to care about the men, yet one passes from this world with only the briefest of depictions. I was surprised it did not win the Oscar as best film, but the awards were given out before I saw the movie. Now that I have seen it, I think it can be fairly called one of the ten best films of its year, and one of the three most talked about, but not deserving of the top honor for its season. Good performances for sure, but the script could have used some trimming and some punch.

5-0 out of 5 stars Almost love ... but reality strikes!

1-0 out of 5 stars unhappy ending
purchased the dvd and received it quickly - when trying to view the dvd I found it has no audio - I contacted the seller NO RESPONSE - I then went through Amazon and still NO RESPONSE. I am very disappointed and sad to say this has put a sour taste in my mouth. I can say I will never purchase anything from CHILLOUT ZONE again as it only takes but a minute to respond to an e-mail and they can not even to that....

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply one of Disney's Best
This has got to be at least in the top three of the many animated movies the Disney studios produced. So many great characters are in it - Cleo, Jiminy Crickit, The Good Fairy, Gepetto, Honest John, Monstro and of course Pinocchio himself. So many good hummable songs too including"An Actor's Life", I've Got No Strings to Hold Me Down, and the most famous "When You Wish Upon A Star."The story is original and the plot exciting without being too scary for little ones and all ends happily.Don't miss the ride at Disneyland either!

5-0 out of 5 stars one of the great disney films
Made back when Disney made truely great animated films. I love the old Disney stuff and Pinocchio is one of the best. Disney was and is the king of this film genre, especially back when this one was made. NO animation done today rivals the Disney cartoons of the era this film was made. Warner Brothers, Dreamworks, Pixar and any of the other animation studios of today will never touch the quality and imagination of early Disney films. I don't like computer animation, so maybe I'm biased in that respect. This film is pure art. ... Read more

Why? Because the movie is about 12 men in a jury, who decide if the pleaded is guilty, or not. I still didn't answer the question. Somehow, they talk and argue for over and hour and a half, and SOME HOW we are still drawn to the screen and we can't take our eyes off of it for a second!

This is one of those movies that works for all the wrong reasons--disgusting, lowbrow, base humor that we are all far too sophisticated to find amusing. So, just don't tell anyone you still think it's a riot to watch John Belushi as the brutish Bluto slurp Jell-O or terrorize his less-aggressive fellow students. This crude parody of college life in the '60s spawned many imitations, but none could match the fresh-faced talent or bad taste of this huge box office success. (Remember all those toga parties in the '80s?) The first of the National Lampoon movies, this was originally released as Read more

"Animal House" raised the bar, and set a standard for all comedies that followed. Many have tried to duplicate the originality of this movie, and all have failed to come close.

This is a modern-day remake of the old John Belushi movie about college, only without the pranks.Justin was much better on the eyes than fat John.My Justin would have fit right in with this group with the skateboarding antics and splashing in the pool.Kaleena and Chrissy are as beautiful as the California girls and will be exceptional some day, Kaleen with her ballet training in Cincinnati and Chris with her dynamic bubbling personality. Both have blue eyes and natural blonde hair. David Lean focused all his talent as an epic-maker on Boris Pasternak's sweeping novel about a doctor-poet in revolutionary Russia. The results may sometimes veer toward soap opera, especially with the screen frequently filled with adoring close-ups of Omar Sharif and Julie Christie, but Lean's gift for cramming the screen with spectacle is not to be denied. The streets of Moscow, the snowy steppes of Russia, the house in the country taken over by ice; these are re-created with Lean's unerring sense of grandness. The movie is so lush and so long that it becomes an irresistible wallow, even when logic suffers--like Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing DVD for an Amazing movie
It was more than 16 years since I watched Dr. Zhivago on a Betamax.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of Hollywood's Great Epic Films
DR. ZHIVAGO was one of the last great epic films produced by Hollywood. In the 1950's and 60's, a string of films were produced that resembled closely resembled grand opera without music: the casts were large, the stories intricate, and the settings spectacular. Some were great successes such as BEN HUR. Others are notable disasters, with CLEOPATRA perhaps being the best known example. DR. ZHIVAGO may be the most enduring of these epic films. It's based on a novel by Boris Pasternak that was banned in the USSR which only added to the fascination of audiences in the United States. The film boasts of an all star cast. It has one of the most beloved musical scores. It seems that no expense was spared in the filming. It was also a bit shocking for some American audiences in terms of material. Few American films in the early 1960's dealt with a man who loved two women with love scenes to boot! Of course it would be tame and perhaps too simplistic fare for an audience of today, but it was daring at the time.
5-0 out of 5 stars Epic
A powerful, sweeping movie that makes a character out of the Russian landscape, Doctor Zhivago is about a man broken by the times he inhabits.Set around the time of the Bolshevik Revolution we're introduced to our main players - Zhivago, the good doctor; Tonya, the faithful wife; and Lara, the beauty who steals men's hearts. The three and a half hour run time allows plenty of room for side plots, but the main tale is of Zhivago's path crossing with Lara on several occasions - through chance, through war, and through communist desperation - and how his marital fidelity is eventually defeated.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Genuine Disney Classic
Disney's fourteenth animated feature is one of Disney's best animated movies, as well as one of Disney's best movies.Though J. M. Barrie's classic "Wendy and Peter," which was later titled "Peter Pan," inspired this feature rather than being a model for it, the movie stands on its own as a wonderful children's story.
4-0 out of 5 stars Correction, Please
Just a brief correction of the previous review.Your heart's in the right place, Charles (fellow Atlantan!) and you're absolutely correct to insist that PETER PAN isn't a widescreen film...but KING & I most definitely WAS NOT the first widescreen movie. That honor likely falls to Abel Gance's 1927 masterpiece NAPOLEON.Even in the modern era, Fox had had their Cinemascope process going strong for 3 years by the time KING & I appeared. The first Cinemascope film was THE ROBE, released on September 16, 1953, followed by BENEATH THE 12 MILE REEF the same year and then dozens of others. It IS true that the first widescreen cartoon feature did not appear until 1956: Disney's own LADY AND THE TRAMP, also in Cinemascope. At any rate, buyers can approach this disc with confidence; nothing at all is "cut-off."

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the classics
If you want to get a taste of whatthe late 70's and early 80's were like, you must add this movie to your collection! In the spirit of an adventure movie, the two heroes, played by Dan Aykroyd and the late John Belushi, are looking for money to save their old orphanage.Along the way, they pay homage to some of the best rythmn and blues music of the 20th century. With performances by notables like James Brown and Ray Charles, this movie can't be beat. The movie is worth its price and then some for just the final half hour alone. This is the "good version" not the cut-up one they play on TV all of the time.R rating is more for the language and the cartoon-like violence, but is reasonably appropriate for age 13+.There is no sexual content and, unlike most "comedies" today, there's not a fart joke to be found. ... I enjoyed both the book and the movie. The movie, fortunately, bears virtually no relationship in plotting to the book, as the book would be out-dated (or, use intelligence-community jargon, "overtaken by events").
5-0 out of 5 stars A taut, suspenseful, highly enjoyable political thriller
It's not easy to make a good suspense thriller these days.Hollywood directors seem to forget this sometimes, but lots of explosions and fight scenes really aren't enough to satisfy audiences today. You've got to tell a good story and deliver some well-developed characters if you want to make a worthwhile film,
