5-0 out of 5 stars Discomfort and Realism Have Never Been So Funny
The Office almost didn't succeed. It wasn't because it wasn't funny (it is), wasn't well-acted (it is), or due to poor reviews (critics loved it); people were too afraid that it would pale in comparison to the British series of the same name upon which this show is based. Also, it is a very different style of comedy, which is a huge turn-off to people who are comfortable with the numerous (read: cookie cutter) sitcoms that flood the airwaves each year (Arrested Development fans know what I'm talking about).Anyway, with only a 6 episode first season, things looked pretty grim.Fortunately, the show was able to stay on the air long enough to win over a respectable fanbase, and now it looks like it will be here for a while. But about that first season...
5-0 out of 5 stars The Beginning of Someting Incredible!!!!!
If you want someting new, something fresh, something different; The Office, season 1, is for you!Not incorporating your regular "set up and punch line" comedy, this show will definatly have you laughing out loud.
5-0 out of 5 stars The season that started it all
Office hype is all over the media these days. The show won an emmy and Steve Carrell is "hot" right now.So, if you've become a fan of the show during the second or third season, you need to buy this DVD so you can see where it all began.

3-0 out of 5 stars less exciting than other seasons
First of all , i'm a die hard Sopranos fan . I own all 5 seasons . Seasons 1-5 were all pretty good , some standing out more than others . My favorite episode was Seasons 3 Pine Barrens . Anyway , season 6 was pretty dissappointing for me . The Vito storyline was drawn out way to long . Everyone knew he was gay , but they seemed to devote half the episodes just to vito . They coulda tied that story up in one , maybe two episodes . It seemed the writer was trying ride off the success of Brokeback Mountain .Tonys near death experience was pretty good touch though . Especially the changes he made after his coma . Anyway , I hope the next half is better .

3-0 out of 5 stars Half the season, half the quality of previous seasons...
Season six, part one?Trying to make money due to a hiatus that should not have occurred, but who could blame them. However, I would of just called it quits on season six with 12 episodes and have a final season seven.I hope that when season six part two comes out, we will have the option of buying the complete season instead of buying part one and part two.As far as season six, it is by far not the best and this is regrettably being said by one of greatest Sopranos fans there are.I have always liked the writing, the acting and the plot.In fact, episode one of season six is one of the best episodes ever made, but for the most part of season six, part one, it has been lackluster to the point of almost boring on occasions.Yes, there were some good plot twists, some great acting and some very good writing that deals with subject matter not normally associated with this genre of television or movies. My rating of this box set or the first 12 episodes is a comparison with the first five "full" seasons in which I own the box sets. The show is aging, maturing to the point where you know you are being led to its finale. What the show is doing well is that it is not leaving really any clues as to what to expect for part two--which my hope is that the show rebounds and finishes with a literal bang.God save Tony and please give us a movie for the real finale. For those of you, I hope you TIVO'd the first 12 episodes like I did, that way you don't have to buy "part one" and wait for the entire season to end and hopefully be able to buy the entire season for about the same price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still the Sexiest Show
This show is completely inexplicable to me.Despite the fact that the people and the stories are so evil and sick, it still turns me on.I cannot figure out why, but I just know it's true.Tony, I love you!I can't help it.I'll probably keep loving you even after somebody whacks you! ... Read more

I love the movie! I just have one problem. I can't seem to be able to play The Royal Life from Disc 2? I put it in my computer and clicked on The Royal Life and it just gives me a summary of what it's about and then tells me to insert the dvd-rom. Does someone know how to do this?

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Cinderella is the film that saved the Walt Disney Company.
5-0 out of 5 stars Walt Disney's Best Movie
Disney made its mark as a major studio in 1937 with its first full-length feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Ironically, given this early success, Snow White was their only hit movie for the next 13 years. World War II kicked the hell out of Disney's overseas markets. Even movies today regarded as classic Disney - Pinnochio, Bambi, Fantasia - lost money on initial release. Disney eked through by diversifying into training films for the US government, and the South American films that were part of FDR's Good Neighbor policy, etc. - stuff that made back its costs but not much more. By 1948, Disney was in dire financial straits. They had just enough money for one more movie. Walt Disney realized he needed a hit or his studio probably wouldn't survive, and it would have to be what they did best: a full-length animated feature film. Walt said to himself, "What we need is a movie about a girl in trouble. Audiences love that. They loved Snow White." That's what he wanted: a movie like Snow White, but even more so - more comedy, more drama, more magic, more music, more lovable characters. He chose as the basis of his company's Hail Mary pass arguably the most famous fairy tale in the world: Cinderella.

It's still one of the sweetest kisses onscreen, up there with Bergman and Grant, Bogey and Bacall: the moment when pampered purebred Lady and streetwise mongrel Tramp, sharing a moonlit plate of spaghetti in an alley behind an Italian café, unknowingly slurp the same strand, and suddenly find their mouths meeting in surprise and tenderness. Ah, puppy love. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lady and the Tramp....Going into the Vault!
Disney has announced that in January the Lady and the Tramp DVD will be put into the vault!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Most Romantic of All Disney Films
I fell in love with this movie when I was little, back in 1955 when "Lady and the Tramp" first came to the theaters, and am probably one of the few who can actually remember seeing the promo show, "The Story of Dogs" on the old Disneyworld TV series from the early 50's.I actually had the rare privildge of being taken twice! To this day, it remains my all-time favorite Disney film, favorite dog film, and continues to charm, amuse, and move me to tears.
5-0 out of 5 stars Romantic Comedy Goes to the Dogs
Lady and the Trap has been an enduring Disney classic for 50 years now and it's amazing how well it holds up after all that time. The hand painted animation is beautiful and the story and music are top notch. This film is an example of Disney animation at its classic best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, warm trip down memory lane!
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a charming and playful Halloween story that adults and kids will love. Bing Crosby's smooth tones are the perfect accompaniment for this old-fashionied cartoon - perfect for snuggling under the covers on a dark, rainy night! I absolutely loved it as a 7-year-old kid and I am thrilled to share it with my little boy.

5-0 out of 5 stars The eleventh animated Disney masterpiece is a winner
I recently reviewed "Fun and Fancy Free," released just two years before this film.Walt Disney tried the same thing in that film that he did in this film; he combined two shorts into one release.Unfortunately, the technique did not work well in "Fun and Fancy Free."The technique worked very well in this feature.

DONT listen to that silly man " a viewer" He doesnt know a thing. You can watch this extrodinary film on DVD and reap the hearty rewards of laughter and happiness. Or you can watch a VHS and dial up the internet while you toast your snax on a fire. In other words....The dvd is far better then any old VHS. This DVD is the best. Just believe me. You will thank me later. And see Spamalot too.

4-0 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air.
With all the deadly serious movies about the grail out there these days it's good to once again watch a movie that treats the subject with a sense of humor.
    5-0 out of 5 stars A Newt?
One of my favorite comedies, and Monty Python's best and most irreverent movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The Monty Python troop made three films and had a television series that challenged the status quo by dealing with religion, class welfare, politics and dead parrots. There humor seems as fresh and rebellious today as when it was aired. Sometimes their humor was forced -- some scenes in The Meaning of Lif(e) ; however, Monty Python and the Holy Grail has the perfect mix of antitoletarism, irreverence and silly sots.

Simply put, every episode a classic. From Mr. Sparkle to the Milhouse divorce, from Frank Grimes to Little Lisa Slurry, it's hard to find fault with what I consider the show's most amazing season ever.

Would hope to hear from others who have purchased this disc set. ... Read more

Imaginatively rendered but slightly chilly, this 1951 Disney adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic is also appropriately surreal. Alice (voiced by Kathryn Beaumont) has all the anticipated experiences: shrinking and growing, meeting the White Rabbit, having tea with the Mad Hatter, etc. Characterization is very strong, and the Disney team worked hard to bring screen personality to Carroll's eccentric creations. For a Disney film, however, it seems more the self-satisfied sum of its inventiveness than a truly engaging experience. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A clear understanding as to why Enron fell
I am a CPA & I watched the film in an ethics class we are required to take, essentially because of the fall of Enron. I have since bought the video & watched it at least 5 other times. Of course there are political slants. For example, they try & tie the Bush administration(s)(Sr. & Jr.) to Enron. But, the majority of the film deals with what happened to Enron, so that in the end, the stock you purchased was worth $0. I would highly recommend any person interested in business or the fraud aspect in business to watch this documentary. A riveting documentary on the rise & fall of Enron & who the major players in Enron were.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Evil That Men Do
Kenneth Lay and his cohorts were looking to make millions not for the company but for themselves. They took advantage of the investors, the employees and the public. They knew what they were doing and were stopping at nothing to get what they wanted. The chips came crashing down when speculation from a Fortune magazine writer saw that the financial figures didn't add up. Skilling knew that the company was facing severe trouble if it were found that they were tampering with numbers and taking millions from the corporation. Enron fell hard like the World Trade Center when it was reported that its earnings were dropping like flies and bankruptcy was the ultimate demise.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Ugly Face of Greed...
At first, I wasn't too keen on seeing this movie- Its title, ENRON-THE SMARTEST GUYS IN THE ROOM- suggested to me that it would be about a bunch of smart guys number crunching on their way to faking accounting records. What else would a bunch of 'smart guys' do?

5-0 out of 5 stars Movies are NOT HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS
I'am not going to go on about the movie and every thing that has already been said.First I have studied warfare all my life, and I enjoy history.Therfore I realize this is not historicaly acurate, but I geuss all you academics can not get past all that and see a true story for American and all mens longing for freedom. This is the greatest story about freedom ever to be told(besides Patriot). The thing is all you academics can sit there and say well if u look here u'll see that it's impossible for the scots to have..., when you have never fought or held a weapon none the less used one and claim to know every thing about this stuff. So please I beg you, sit back and watch this movie once more and look at the spirit of the movie not the picture of it.

5-0 out of 5 stars I didn't notice the bad picture quality like a last reviewer did
I thought the picture was fine.Sound quality is very good and I was able to see all of the fights with blood and guts flying everywhere just fine.I would like see a special edition though but making of's and a documentary on how a film was made, those types of special features are just getting boring.Maybe you are looking for a blu-ray version of it but I have seen too many problems with these hi-def dvd's.This DVD is cheap and is more than worth it.I also found the behind the scene's and commentary from Mel Gibson very enjoyable.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Sons Of Scotland, I Am William Wallace!"
'Braveheart', the Academy Award winning film from '95 tells the story of William Wallace, the Scottish poet/warrior and patriot that inspired Scotland in their fight for independence from England in the early 14th century. Mel Gibson is magnificent as William Wallace in this cinematic gem that will linger in your memory long after the ending.

Disney's 1959 animated effort was the studio's most ambitious to date, a widescreen spectacle boasting a gorgeous waltz-filled score adapting Tchaikovsky. In the 14th century, the malevolent Maleficent (not dissimilar to the wicked Queen in Disney's Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars For Your Princess
It's so wonderful to live in a time when Disney's strange behavior of taking their classics off the market can be circumvented by great Internet marketers like Amazon. I was able to buy this 5 Star Disney Princess classic recently for my young princess through one of Amazon's third-party sellers. And without that opportunity, my little princess may have outgrown Snow White by the time Disney released it again.
5-0 out of 5 stars Sleeping Beauty Awakens!
This DVD changed my opinion of Disney's Sleeping Beauty.Since the story has been summarized elsewhere, my review will focus mainly on the DVD itself.I had never been much of a fan previously and viewed this as a sort of Snow White and Cinderella also-ran, although I did love the gorgeous, sweeping adaption of Tchaikovsky's ballet, with "I wonder" and especially "Once Upon a Dream" being among Disney's finest and most transportative musical pieces. The difference between this and prior releases of Sleeping Beauty (indeed, of many Disney movies) is that the digital restoration truly enhances the film possibly beyond what, as one reviewer put it, may actually have been experienced by the original theatrical audience.
5-0 out of 5 stars This movie is excellent.
One thing I most love about this movie, is the music. Slepping Beauty has songs from the ballet. I watch this movie whenever I can. It has brilliant animation, brilliant songs and brilliant characters, especially princess Aurora, my favourite Disney Princess. I highly recommand this movie. ... Read more
