80's+skiing+nudity = awesomeness!
This movie (along with Aspen Extreme) pretty much defines the 80s ski scene. The cast is great, the acting is horrible and the soundtrack can't be beat. Once you watch you'll want to hit the slopes in your neon one piece representing the rat pack. Just watch out for those Austrians!

Good, Solid, Fun
Like most Kiss products, I've had to either read, re-read, listen, re-listen, or, in this case, watch and re-watch, the movie.And, the more I watch, the harder I laugh.There is so much in the movie I missed the first time I saw it in a theatre.And, they've done a remarkable job of catching "the 70's" on film; from the sound-track, to the cars, to the scenery, to the hair-styles. . .very well done.My favorite scene:Hawk puking, and puking. . .and puking prior to his strip "tease."It is not a masterpiece, and it won't go down as a "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" quality-production. . .but good. . .Watch it again and again. . .and laugh, like I did, harder, and harder.It's nice to see Kiss make fun of themselves. . .
A fun nostalgic 70's farce that doesn't quite live up to it's potential
The first time I saw "Detroit Rock City" I thought that the weird sense of déjà vu I was having was just wishful thinking masquerading as middle-aged nostalgia until my wife turned to me and said, "This whole movie looks like something you and (a high-school friend) would have done."

What's up, Doc?
Cannibal Women in the avocado jungle of death is very, very funny.The basic idea is that the USA is running short of avocados and they need to make a deal with the Piranha Women to increase the free world's supply (it turns out that the Reds have started to beat us in the avocado race).So Shannon Tweed (Hot Dog), with the help of a guide played by Bill Maher (Politically Incorrect) and her student Bunny played by Karen Mistal (Return Of The Killer Tomatoes) must go into the jungle of death.Luckily Bill has a copy of the guide book.

I knew this one would be fun when I recognized Karen Mistal from Return of the Killer Tomatoes. Half the fun was watching Bill Maher play a bumbling guide. Shannon Tweed is deadly!
This movie while definitely in the B category is still worth every penny just to watch Shannon Tweed. I believe she was a former playmate and wow is she still hot! She plays an FBI agent deep undercover in ol Mexico. Apparently a casino's boss is in cahoots with a drug gang and it's up to the dangerous blonde bombshell to infiltrate and bring'em down. In turn, her body proves to be her best weapon of offense as she executes some great martial arts moves against the baddies.(The best scene is when a couple thugs break into her room and try a sneak attack only to be taken by surprise as Shannon knocks them out cold with a couple spinning back kicks to the head all the while still dressed in her nightie) All in all with this movie you get what you expect,..a polished lady that brings down the bad guyswhile showing off her beauty. Now what could be wrong with that?

What I can say in short about this movie is that Shannon Tweed, as a undercover(cop), solving some 'problem(not going to mention much)' which later have one sexual activity scene to let the underworld believe that she is co-operating with them. There are altogether four sex scenes(2 showing the sex between the two parties in full, one is only showing sex scenes at half body and the other one is just erotic(no sex). This is one of the good collection for those whom like to collect sex related movies. Shannon At Her Sexiest Best

TOO BAD IT IS NOT LETTERBOXED
This is not a bad Spaghetti Western with snow, not bad for the price either, however this is a pan and scan print of obviously a 2:35 to 1 aspect ratio, but most of the action is central to the screen, so not as many "talking noses" per say....The print was grainy in some parts but oddly adds to the European feel of the film. Maurizio Merli does a credible job as the good guy and fahter figure to the boys and dog (German Shepard or Alaskan Huskie) and the heavy is played with his usual serving of ham by Henry Silva and a small supporting role by Irish star turned Italian film catylist Donald OBrian. Also for Spaghetti Western, the film is quite mild and very little violence or adult situation. The excellent score is by Carlo Rustichelli who scored several films for the late Gioseppi Collizi such as Boot Hill and Ace High. It has a few extras, for some odd reason an Little Rascal short and a dvd dictionary.I would like to see Lucio Fulci's White Fang and its sequel released as well on dvd...Overall this is not a bad family film

a real thriller
A beautiful blond female cop investigates a string of murders, all blond victims. Interesting plot twists, keeps you guessing to the end. Afair number of nude scenes, for the guys. Light entertainment.

A good bad B movie.
This is one of the better B suspense movies I've seen.Plus I'm a Marc Singer fan, and if you are too, you'll probably like this.Lots of sex, but that's to be expected from a film of this caliber.I don't think it detracts from the movie's suspense.Did I miss something?What role did Tippy Hedren play?I didn't notice her, but then, it's been a while.

I saw this movie when I was rather young. Maybe 11 or 12, I don't know. It was on cable and I was priveleged enough to have cable, so there you go. Anyways, I thought the acting was rather lame. To think that someone wouldactually spend money to make this movie is beyond me. But this movie isabout sex, and let's face it, there was a good deal of it and the womenwere well chosen. Alas, poor Troma! We should all salute Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Hertz for their selfless dedication and their willingness to act as a lightening rod for the insults heaped upon bad cinema! Scorned was alot better
Even the unrated version of this movie was a disapoinment.All of the "special" scenes were either slow,or broken up with parts of other stuff happening in the movie.If you really want to see Tweed at her sexiest,see "Scorned"!

No Contest
I liked to movie it was a little on the lame side but I like
B-Movie Masterpiece!
This movie is Dice's best since Ford Fairlane and Crime Story!He turns out a fantastic performance as a bad guy.Shannon Tweed, in her best role yet, plays the kick boxing heroine who, stunt double or no, really kicks the tar out of the bad guys.Other B-Movie greats are here, including Robert "Showgirls" Davi, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and a few other familiar faces.Piper gets the stuffing beat out of him with a bag of ice in one of the film's best scenes.Don't miss this one, watch it late at night, but be sure to watch it!

A Struggle For Survivial.A Struggle To The Death.
Way back in the 1980s and 90s I used to go to the video store and rent all of the horror films.
The old Man and the...
Peter Weller is a man on his way up fast in the business world.He has personally renovated a NY brownstone and is up for an important position at work.But then two things happen.First his wife and son go off to Vermont to visit her family.Second, a very large rat moves in.What follows is a sort of modern-day retelling of THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA (complete with clips from the movie).
The all time king of rat movies?
I saw this on video back in the 80's, mostly because Peter Weller was in it, and he was (and still is) one of my favorite actors.He plays an NYC businessman who becomes obsessed with a really big and mean rat that's invaded the dreamhouse/brownstone he's personally restored.The filmmakers definitely had aspirations beyond just making a rat movie (at one point, Weller pounds on the ceiling with a copy of "Moby Dick"), but just as a rat movie, it succeeds beautifully:Increasingly scary and gory rat action, something the new version of"Willard" pretty much forgot to include.There's also a rat expert onhand, without which no good rat movie can do without - really two, if you count Weller's character, who starts spewing rat facts at inappropriate times at the movie goes on.(One of the great bits of dialogue goes something like this:"You're thinking of [the rat] maybe 10% of the time...but he's thinking of you 100% of the time..."Because he's a RAT, and rats is rats.)What really puts the movie over, aside from some pretty effective direction, is Weller's great performance as the businessman, who slowly starts to lose his grip the more he becomes obsessed with evicting the rat from his home.I'd rank it as one of the best performances in a horror film, up there with Jeff Goldblum in "The Fly."So, if you're into rat movies, it'd be hard to top this one for your viewing pleasure. ... Henriksen highlight in
Veteran actor Lance Henriksen (Stone Cold, Aliens) again sets himself apart in this low-budget thriller with his "mad man behind the scenes" character that serves him so well. Always setting himself apart someway, be it dress, behavior or both, to create a stand-out bad guy. He is joined with other low-budget film greats that have proved their merit. Bruce Payne (Warlock III), Shannon Tweed (No Contest) and Jayne Heitmeyer (Sci-Fighters). Ms. Tweed kicks [behind] to save the day in this action thriller. But it's really great to get to see this many low-budget actors working together. Surely they had fun. The film is worth a look and one to buy if you collect Mr. Henriksen's works.

Fairly good sequel with competent performances.
As far as sequels go, this one doesn't quite match the fun of No Contest, however Shannon Tweed, Lance Henricksen and Bruce Payne seem to be having a good time with their roles. Worth owning. ... Read more

Hogan does it again!
If you're a fan of "The Ultimate Weapon" then you've GOT to see this movie! Its a really good film with a great cast. Carl Weathers is awesome in reprising his role from "Predator"- but I'd still love to see a Hogan/Schwarzeneggar action movie.. A sleeper!
Do you like international kidnapping, former NAVY SEALS, muscles and a lot of military hardware not to mention a very pretty lady in your movies? I bought SHADOW WARRIORS taking a chance that it would be an action movie with some substance. After all, Carl Weathers and Terry 'Hulk' Hogan are a sure thing for plenty of action. And Shannon Tweed, well, she's great to look at! To my pleasant surprise, this is a very entertaining movie, fun to watch and worth the price.

A great rolling action charged movie with a 007 flair finish
Hulk Hogan was great, Shannon Tweed her beautiful self with some exceptional martial arts skills. This combination could have longevity if the same standard of supporting actors are included. Basically, the quality of this DVD is not good and Shannon Tween didn't perform very well in this film.Although other girls show the nudity and sex scene, it does not help too much for this poor movie.

Hard Vice is not so nice.
Hard Vice (also known as Vegas Vice)is a cheap direct to video affair that is about cops chasing down a hooker who kills her customers. Now vice copsSam Jones (whom you might remember from the Flash Gordon film) and ShannonTweed are called to the case. Very cheesy and low budget making you feelthat you just wasted your time. You can thank director/producer/writer JoeyTravolta for making this garbage a reality.

There is only one reason to watch a Shannon Tweed movie and it isn't here.Normally, I wouldn't complain--you pay your money and take your chances.But this movie is a flat out violation of truth in advertising. It's billedas a R rated movie on amazon, on the cover for the disk, and even stampedon the dvd itself. But as soon as you play it you're told that it is PG.And, boy, does it ever deserve it's PG rating. I've seen more skin indocumentaries on the Amish. If you're one of those rare birds who'd watch aTweed movie for the plot, forget it--it's not good enough to keep aninsomniac awake nor is it bad enough for camp. If you need a movie to getrid of unwanted guests, this might do the trick. But, if you want to seeShannon in all or even some of her glory, look elsewhere.

Silly but fun
Night Visitor is in many ways a typical 80's horror film. It's silly, not to be taken seriously, focuses on a teenager, and is more funny than scary. It has a surprisingly good cast, all of whom are game, but the script is lame. The film however manages to maintain a sense of fun, and almost all of the laughs are intentional. In fact, many of the exchanges between Allen Garfield, who plays a history teacher who is also a satanic serial killer, and Michael J. Pollard, who plays his WEIRD brother, are plain side-splittingly hilarious. Garfield does a very good job in his very peculiar role, and adds a lot of credibility to a film that without him simply wouldn't have worked. Richard Roundtree, Shaft himself, has a thankless bit part as a police captain. Softcore star Shannon Tweed has an equally small part, and, unfortunately, bares no skin. I watched this film because the DVD cover claims that the movie stars the great Elliott Gould. Gould fans be warned however, he's only in the movie for about 10 flippin minutes!! Derek Rydall plays the film's real main character, who is so witless and DUMB that the viewer may have a hard time caring anything about him. Not only is Gould's part a bit part, it is also a SAD part. Gould is a great actor, underused, and underrated. His ad libbed scenes in Robert Altman's The Long Goodbye, especially the "interrogation scene," which was entirely unscripted (!!), is some of the best acting I've ever seen. How did Gould go from M*A*S*H*, to The Long Goodbye, to Capricorn One, to The Silent Partner (four of my favorite movies!), to Night Visitor? I don't know, but I feel sorry for the man.

Goofy late 80's pseudo-satanic teen claptrap

I sort of gave away the entire review just then.While not all that bad, Night Visitor certainally isn't good, not by a longshot.In fact, it was bad enough to trick me into looking for the robotic silhouettes from "Mystery Science Theater 3000" in the corner whenever I wasn't dozing off.A handful of veteran actors, including Eliott Gould and Richard "Shaft" Roundtree, wander listlessly through a threadbare plot about a doughy California high school history teacher who lives alone with his slow-witted brother, kidnaps and tortures prostitutes and occasionally sacrifices them in his tiny homemade Satanic temple--pretty much normal behavior for most high school history teachers.The teen leads, while enthusiastic and fairly competant as actors, looked like refugees from a late 80's "Mentos" commercial and warrant no further recognition or discussion whatsoever.And now, the shameful confession:I *like* cheesy 80's junk, so would I watch this again?Sure, but only after a five-year rest, not one day less!

I try to find something positive to say about nearly everything I review, which can be a difficult task at times, but I will say this about the film Night Visitor (1989)...the DVD cover art is dramatic and eye catching...too bad it had almost nothing to do with the actual content of the movie.Directed by Rupert Hitzig, whose primary credits list him as producer on such films as Wolfen (1981), Jaws 3-D (1983), and The Last Dragon (1985), the movie features Derek Rydall (Popcorn), Allen Garfield (The Brink's Job, Beverly Hills Cop II), Elliott Gould (MASH, American History X), and Richard Roundtree (Shaft, Maniac Cop).Also appearing is Shannon Tweed (Hot Dog... The Movie), Teresa Van der Woude (Killer Workout), Michael J. Pollard (Bonnie and Clyde, Dick Tracy), Henry Gibson (The Blues Brothers), and former playmate turned adult film star Teri Weigel (Cheerleader Camp, Predator 2, Droppin' Loads 2).
